Bambino Mio Miosolo Review | AIO Cloth Nappy | #ClothNappyMonday

Happy Cloth Nappy Monday! This is the second part of this series all about cloth nappies and the first review (of many!) featured in the series. Today, I want to write about a brand and type of cloth nappy that’s really helping making cloth nappies more easily available and that’s Bambino Mio and their brilliant AIO (All-in-One) cloth nappy Miosolo.

Bambino Mio is a British company run by husband and wife Guy and Jo Schanschieff. The company has been going for nearly 20 years and has won over 50 awards and sells products in 70 countries worldwide. Bambino Mio is the largest and most accessible reusable nappy brand in the world. Bambino Mio may have grown in size but the core family values remain the same, to manufacture high quality, simple, reusable nappies and associated products and make them accessible and affordable to all.

The first products I tried from Bambino Mio was their Reusable Baby Wipes and then, a year later, their Potty Training Pants and we’re still using both products daily. The quality of these products are amazing so when I started my serious cloth nappy journey, I naturally looked to Bambino Mio for their nappies too. I’d seen them online and in-store and thought they looked great and easy to use so when I switched to cloth, I decided to buy some Miosolo nappies.

Our cloth nappy stash is pretty much half and half AIO nappies and pocket nappies and both types are really easy to use for beginners like myself. I wanted nappies that were easy to put on and to wash and Miosolos definitely are.

  • The Nappy & Features

Miosolo is an award-winning nappy that is simple, super soft and very stylish. It’s a onesize nappy that will grow with your baby from birth to potty training. It will fit most babies by adjusting the size with the poppers and how tightly you fasten the Velcro.Bambino Mio Miosolo Review | AIO Cloth Nappy | #ClothNappyMonday A Mum Reviews

The inside of the nappy has a concealed super absorbent core with a stay-dry inner layer to keep moisture away from your baby’s skin, ensuring it’s cool and dry. The outer fabric is stretchy and water resistant to keep moisture locked into the nappy and your baby’s clothes dry. The fabric is amazingly soft and lovely and it does stay like this even after lots of washing.Bambino Mio Miosolo Review | AIO Cloth Nappy | #ClothNappyMonday A Mum Reviews

A couple of unique features of this nappy is the pull out tab that makes it really easy to remove the core from the inside ready for washing and a pocket to put your hand in when pushing the core back when clean and dry in to make it really easy to get it into the perfect place. The core is attached to the outer which is what makes it an AIO nappy but it’s great that it opens up so much. Bambino Mio Miosolo Review | AIO Cloth Nappy | #ClothNappyMonday A Mum Reviews

The Miosolo nappies are made in China in factories that Bambino Mio have good, long-standing relationships with.

  • The Fit

The fit is really good on my 14-month-old daughter. I don’t have to adjust with the poppers and just put it on like a single-use nappy and adjust the Velcro around her waist.

The Miosolo is a slim cloth nappy thanks to the very absorbent single layer core and it doesn’t look bulky at all on my daughter. She can wear any leggings or trousers over them without any problems.

The Velcro crosses over at the waist which is great for smaller babies.

  • Washing

The Miosolo washes really well! I’ve not had any problems with staining yet and I only use biodegradable liners. You can machine wash up to 60°C and tumble dry on cold/low. It’s recommended to wash at 40°C with non-biological washing detergent and to air dry your nappies away from direct heat as washing at high temperatures and drying in the dryer can result in premature deterioration of your nappies.

There are tabs to fold the Velcro fasteners back onto when washing to keep them in good condition and to make sure they don’t stick to anything else during the wash.

I wash at 40-60°C with non-biological washing detergent and dry outside in the shade or on an airer indoors. The soft top layer of the nappy on the inside stays really soft but does attract fluff from other washing and the inner core also attracts some fluff and absorbs a bit of colour too. It really doesn’t matter though as we’re not sensitive to a bit of fluff and it doesn’t matter if the core goes a bit off-white or peachy. You only see it when washing the nappies! The outside of the nappies stay looking pristine and the Velcro seems to be really good quality too.

One of the things I love the most about Miosolo nappies is that they dry so quickly for AIO nappies. Since the core comes out completely, the shell and the core can dry really fast as air can reach all areas. I would say they dry twice as fast if not more compared to our other AIO brands which is amazing. I’m not worried about being able to dry these in the winter months as they air dry in about 24 hours indoors. It’s due to the fact that they’re made of polyester and the design that they dry so fast.
  • Performance

I find the Miosolo nappies very absorbent and the keep my daughter dry for a long time. We usually use ours without any boosters but you can fit one if you want your baby to be able to wear the nappy for longer or for overnight-use. I would say that we can usually use these for about 3-4 hours without any leaks at all and my daughter drinks a lot of water. I’m very happy with this!

  • Style

You can’t deny that Miosolo nappies are gorgeous! They come in lots of fabulous prints and I have a little list of the prints I want to buy next. Currently, Sail Away and Touco are at the top of my wish list. I love the sophisticated geometrical animal prints that both adults and children love. Check Amazon.co.uk for great prices they change daily and you can often find different prints for about £10.

  • Overall

I’m really pleased with all aspects of the Miosolo nappy! It’s really easy to use, performs well, washes and dries beautifully and looks and feels great too. I’m definitely going to buy more and I’m also interested in trying the Miosoft Two-Piece nappies from Bambino Mio.

I’m also happy about the fact that Bambino Mio products are so easily available from the big supermarkets, from ALDI in the Baby & Toddler Events, online from Amazon.co.uk, Boots, Argos and more. It’s makes it easy to buy a cloth nappy here and there and build your stash bit by bit. If you sign up on the Bambino Mio website, you also get 15% off your first order. When you manage to snap them up for £10 on offer or sometimes for even less in the ALDI Baby & Toddler Event, they’re amazing value too and much more affordable than many AIO nappies on the market.

Bambino Mio nappies are available from The Nappy Gurus where you can enjoy a 10% discount with my affiliate discount code “AMUMREVIEWS”.
