Film Review & Giveaway: Fun Mom Dinner – Even Mom Needs a Time Out

I love watching films and feel-good comedies is one of the genres that I enjoy most because laughing makes you feel happier and that’s always a good thing. Since becoming a mum, I also really enjoy watching films with a motherhood/parenthood theme and preferably funny ones.

A new film that’s out on Digital Download from 7th August is Fun Mom Dinner about four mums whose only common ground is their kids’ preschool class. One mum, Emily, is new to the school but friends with another mum there, Kate, who does not get along with the other mums at all… Newly divorced and Instagram-addict Jamie invites Kate to a fun mom dinner to welcome her and Emily tricks reluctant friend Kate to come along to not go on her own. Also, there is super mum Melanie whose strong character clashes with outcast Kate.Film Review & Giveaway: Fun Mom Dinner - Even Mom Needs a Time Out A Mum Reviews

It’s all a disaster from the start but it turns out to be quite an exciting night and the ladies soon realise that they have a lot more in common than just motherhood. It’s an unforgettable night that changes some of the ladies’ relationships with their partners and makes them all close friends.

Before and after the night out, we also see parts of the ladies’ relationships at home and while the girls are out we see what two of the dads are up to when looking after the kids.

The cast is great I really like Toni Collette and Adam Scott and we also see Molly Shannon from Divorce, Bridget Everett from Trainwreck, Katie Aselton from Legion, Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and Paul Rudd from Friends, I Love You, Man and Ant-Man.Film Review & Giveaway: Fun Mom Dinner - Even Mom Needs a Time Out A Mum Reviews

It’s a funny and sweet film about friendship, marriage and motherhood and it did make me laugh and left me with that feel-good smile at the end. I’d recommend it to other mums who enjoy funny films about parenthood and mums on the loose! If you enjoyed Bad Moms and Moms’ Night Out, this is a film for you. It will not change your life but it will probably make you smile and laugh and relax in the knowledge that other parents’ lives are messy too! Perfect to watch at the end of a tiring day with the kids when they’ve gone to bed when you just want to relax and watch something fun and easy  with a glass of wine or two.

Fun Mom Dinner is available from iTunes here from the 7th of August.
