We’ve just updated our daughter’s room with a sunny new lamp shade from Valuelights. Valulights specialise in excellent quality, service and value for money. Their online shop has lots of fun and classy designs for all tastes!

We wanted something that would brighten up the room — not just with actual light but with the style and colour of the lamp, too. After browsing many different design, I spotted this yellow gloss finish dome shaped ceiling pendant and knew it was the right choice for our girl’s room with its green feature wall and retro wall mural. I love yellow and green together! The lamp’s colour is acutally yellow with a hint of green in it when you see it in real life. Some of my photos show this too.

The retro dome design in metal is a classic and retro one that really suits my style!

It’s a pendant shade that you can easily fit onto your standard light without any need for electrical installation or wiring. It really just takes seconds to put it up! We have a Gro-light installed in this room and it fits well together with that too. The Gro-light means that the bulb hangs lower than it would without it.

Above you can see the light off and on. It’s always difficult to capture light the way it actually looks but here’s an attempt. The lamp shade gives a pleasant light that is mainly focused below the lamp but since our bulb hangs low, it also spreads outwards. The holes in the top of the lamp shade help shine some light upwards, too.

This pendant shade is available in lots of different colours (chrome, copper, black, cream, pale blue, royal blue, yellow, red and purple) and is suitable for most rooms. You could hang them in a cluster, like above, over a dining table or a kitchen counter for example and you could even mix different colours for a fun effect. All the colours look beautiful, but I especially love the yellow, chrome and copper ones.

This new update has added a bit of sunshine and fun to this room!
