Spark DVD Review – One Small Hero. A Whole Galaxy of Adventure.

At the weekends, we love watching new and old animated films as a family. It’s the perfect activity for rainy afternoons or when you get in after a busy day out and just need to relax together for a bit before the evening rush of dinner, bath and bedtime.

Last weekend we watched the new film Spark which is a thrilling intergalactic film showing the adventures of a teen monkey and his gang. The film has just been released onto Blu-Ray and DVD this month. The film is from the makers of The Nut Job and Coraline and features many famous voices from actors sci-fi comedy from the makers of The Nut Job and Coraline, featuring the talents of Patrick Stewart, Jessica Biel, Hilary Swank, Susan Sarandon and more.Spark DVD Review - One Small Hero. The synopsis is:

“Spark is a wisecracking, teenage monkey who lives on an abandoned planet with his friends Chunk the pig Chunk, a fox called Vix and some insects. Thirteen years ago, power-hungry Zhong seized control of their planet Beta, wiping out Spark’s family and sending him into hiding. Now, Zhong plans to use the deadly space Kraken to destroy the entire universe, and no one but Spark and his ragtag gang can stop him.”

We thought the film was a fun movie for us to watch together. The animation was beautiful and the film was full of humour, action and fun characters. At first, I thought that my eldest (3.5 years old) might think it was a bit scary with all the action but she really enjoyed it and said it was a good film! If she doesn’t like a new film, she usually asks me to turn it off or to put one of her favourites on but she watched this one the whole way through. She loved the funny monkeys and the other animal characters!

Buy Spark on DVD or Blu-Ray here. It’s also available to buy as a digital download.

We were sent a copy of this DVD for this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
