I love the mint scent of the Battled Green shampoo and conditioner bars included in this set – so fresh! The shampoo bar lathers very well and the conditioner bar helps detangle the ends of my hair, leaving it manageable and soft.

Zero Waste Dry Shampoo

I was also very pleased to find a zero waste dry shampoo in this set as that is a product that I have been looking for. I love the convenience of using dry shampoo occasionally. In this set, I got the Battle Green dry shampoo in Peppermint & Tea Tree and it smells great! It’s easy to use, freshens up my scalp and hair and adds volume too! Charcoal Soap Bar

Battle Green has a fabulous range of natural and vegan soap bars that are handmade in Wales using quality ingredients. In this set, there’s a charcoal soap which is perfect for oily and combination skin. The upcycled charcoal powder refines pores and gently exfoliates skin, while also controlling oil production. Skin is left feeling fresh, nourished, moisturised, smooth and revitalised. I use this on my face but you can use this as a hand or body soap bar too. 

Eco-friendly Lip Balm & Deodorant

Next onto two daily essentials – lip balm and deodorant. This natural lip balm from Battle Green is amazing! It’s so creamy and the peppermint scent is invigorating. The nourishing formula feels like such a treat on my lips and I love that the lip balm comes packaged in an eco-friendly, biodegradable cardboard tube. 

Natural deodorants are one of my favourite zero waste swaps and the Lavender & Tea Tree Natural Deodorant Balm from Battle Green does not disappoint. It’s packaged in a push up cardboard tube which makes it really easy to use – like any other stick deodorant. Just apply a few swipes to each armpit, then enjoy smelling fresh all day. This one has a nice mix of sweet and floral lavender with fresh, clean and earthy tea tree oil – a fantastic unisex fragrance. The creamy formula feels nourishing on my skin and ensures the deodorant glides on effortlessly.

Clay Face Mask

Last but not least from this set is the Charcoal & Tea Tree Natural Clay Face Mask. Clay face masks are my favourite for my combination skin that’s prone to hormonal breakouts. The addition of both charcoal and tea tree makes this face mask even better for me. After 10 minutes of wear, this face mask leaves skin clean, refreshed and super soft. Battle Green Zero Waste Cleaning Set

Another area that I try to keep as low waste as possible is the kitchen. It’s easy to swap to use reusable containers instead of plastic food bags and foils but keep cleaning zero waste is harder in my experience. Wooden Dish Brushes

Both brushes are made with sustainably sourced wood. The larger, long-handled one has coconut husk bristles and the smaller pot brush has tampico plant bristles. Store the dish brushes somewhere dry when not in use and don’t leave them soaking. Once they have worn out, they can be composted.

Solid Dish Soap

The solid dish soap bar is handmade in Wales using the cold press method. It’s all natural, plant-based and made with high-quality ingredients. The dish soap has a natural lemon and eucalyptus scent which is so fresh. 

The vegan and cruelty-free formula is non-toxic, biodegradable, and free from palm oil, SLS/SLES and synthetic fragrances. This award-winning soap bar is multi-purpose too and can be used in the following ways:

• To replace traditional liquid dish soap in the kitchen. Simply rub a dish cloth or brush over the bar to coat with the desired amount and then clean your dishes with the bubbles, then rinse.
• For stain removal: wet the stain, then rub the end of the bar on the stain. Then wash as usual.
• For surface cleaning: rub a warm wet sponge or dishcloth over the bar, then wipe surfaces down before rinsing away with water on a new cloth.

Using solid dish soap is not something I had a lot of experience with before trying this product, but I can confirm that it’s easier than I thought to swap to a solid dish soap alternative. It lathers and cleans wells, smells great and I love that it is multipurpose too.

Swedish Dishcloths

Something I do have a lot of experience with is Swedish dishcloths, being Swedish myself. In Sweden, these types of reusable dishcloths have been popular for as long as I can remember. Most households have them and they’re such a great way to reduce the use of kitchen roll. These ones are made in Sweden from sustainably sourced wood cellulose and cotton fibres that are too short for the textile industry. 

The dishcloths are super-absorbent and can hold up to 20 times their weight in water. They are ideal for using to wipe down surfaces and can also be used for washing dishes. Additionally, they dry quickly and can easily be washed in the dishwasher’s top drawer or in the washing machine to keep them fresh and hygienic.

They are brilliant! Once they are worn out, they can be composted too.
