An Exciting Collection

There are so many different sets to choose from – dinosaurs, magical fantasy creatures, science-themed ones, and more. Whatever your child loves, you’ll find a set that they’ll enjoy building and playing with.

The easy-to-build cardboard kits offer an engaging activity to enjoy at home (or away) and the finished build offers plenty of entertainment afterwards too.

We have recently enjoyed two new sets from Build Your Own – the Dragon and the Hawksbill Turtle. You can find out more about these two sets below.

Mess-Free STEM Fun

Each Build Your Own Kit has been designed to encourage STEM learning, problem-solving, fine motor skills as well as imaginative play. They also provide a hands-on-activity for families. Additionally, these sets are completely mess-free. There’s no glue or faff, just press out the pieces and slot them together according to the easy-to-follow instructions.

The kits are made from sustainably sourced cardboard and paper, making them a more environmentally conscious choice too. They’re also affordable with sets starting at just £7.99.

Building a Dragon and a Hawksbill Turtle

My youngest daughter built the Dragon set by herself. This set is one from a range of sets made for younger builders, from aged 4+. It’s an ideal introduction to creative construction and imaginative play. It’s quick and easy for little ones to build and the finished build of a colourful dragon and accessories makes a fun toy to play with too. The dragon’s head can move and there’s a lockable chest where magical treats and treasures can be stored. Inside the packaging, there’s also a colouring-in activity.

My middle girl built the Hawksbill Turtle which is another brilliant set. This lets you build a large sea turtle, complete with moving flippers. It includes fascinating information about this species, which is one of the world’s most endangered marine animals, within the packaging and on a card stand that you can pop out and display with your finished build. This is a great way to encourage learning while playing.
