CurrentBody LED Face Mask Series 3 – How Does it Work?

The Series 3 LED Face Mask from CurrentBody is the world’s first 100% personalised LED mask. Using the CurrentBody App to Create Your Own Bespoke LED Treatments

Up until now, LED masks have generally delivered the same, pre-determined treatments to all users but now everyone can have their own bespoke treatments, deciding which wavelengths they want, where they want them and avoid any areas that they don’t want treating at all. 

The CurrentBody app makes it super easy and quick to design your own personalised treatments in seconds. Just open the app and choose MyDose to customise the treatment for yourself with a few simple clicks. 

Choose between the 6 clinically proven wavelengths and choose where you want them. You can even have several different lights in the same place. 

When done, send the treatment to your device via Bluetooth. The treatment will now be available via the controller for the mask too so you don’t need to use the app unless you are creating a new personalised treatment. 

You can have several personalised MyDose treatments saved (up to 8) for changing skincare needs. These can be edited and removed at any time too. This lets you create as many new treatments as you wish while you find what works best for you, for seasonal changes, hormonal changes, and more. Whatever is happening, you can create a new MyDose treatment that will support your skincare needs at any given time. 

Each MyDose treatment also has a sharable unique code in case you would like to share your treatment with others or would like to try a treatment that someone else is recommending. 

The Science: Safe & Effective Results, Every Time

When it comes to LED treatments, the correct dose is of utmost importance. Not enough and the treatment becomes ineffective, too much — or light at the wrong wavelength — and the cellular response is inhibited. Within the app, you can control the wavelengths while MyDose automatically calculates the optimal dose for your skin, for every bespoke treatment. Veritace guarantees the clinical quality in every device – every single LED has been tested to make sure that each one meets clinical-grade performance.

Series 3 contains 750 LEDs across 125 chip sets, emitting six precise Veritace-certified wavelengths:

Foundational Wavelengths:

• Red – for collagen support, anti-ageing, and overall skin rejuvenation 
• NIR/Near Infrared (penetrates a little bit deeper than red) – for recovery, firming, and deeper skin support
• Deep NIR/Deep Near Infrared (penetrates the deepest) – for more established fine lines, wrinkles, and deeper skin support.

Targeted Treatment Wavelengths:

• Blue Light – for treating active acne
• Green Light – for treating hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and excess melanin
• Yellow Light – for treating redness and inflammation

Though you could technically use all 6 wavelengths everywhere, this is not recommended. Using all 6 everywhere would mean splitting the available dose into 6, meaning each LED gets a smaller amount of the available dose. It’s better to strategically select the wavelength that your skin actually needs for the optimal treatment. 

My Experience Using the CurrentBody Series 3 Face Mask

I’m so excited about the Series 3 launch! I love that I can now fully personalise my treatments for different skincare concerns. I’m 38 years old so I am keen to keep my skin looking youthful for as long as possible. I also still suffer from hormonal breakouts at different times of my cycle so being able to target them with blue light while treating the rest of my face with anti-ageing red lights is amazing. I add blue light to any areas where I’m currently experiencing breakouts and swap these for just red lights when the spots are gone. 

Green light and yellow light are both new to me and I’m enjoying incorporating these into my LED skincare treatments now too. In my MyDose treatment, I have added green and yellow to my cheeks and yellow to my nose to treat pigmentation and redness.

Consistency is Key 

Using the mask consistently is important for the best results. CurrentBody recommends using their LED mask 3-5 times a week, doing one 10-minute treatment each time (1 treatment per day). All treatments are 10 minutes long and the mask turns itself off when done. The Series 3 controller shows how much time is remaining on your treatment which is great. 

I aim to use the Series 3 LED mask 5 times a week and mainly do this as part of my morning routine, after cleansing my face and before applying any other skincare products. I love how I can change my treatments so easily within the app whenever my skincare needs evolve.
