If you are of a certain age, I’m sure that you will remember playing with wooden labyrinth maze games! These are classic toys that develop a wide range of essential skills such as motor skills, concentration, perception, and reaction speed, all while being lots of fun too. It was one of my favourite toys growing up and I still enjoy playing these kinds of games now. The set consists of 148 press-out parts and 5 swirly glass marbles. It has a skill level rating of 3.5 stars out of 5 and takes around 90 minutes to build. This kit is recommended for children aged 8+ but adult supervision is recommended – or build together as a fun family activity.

There are full step-by-step instructions included – they are illustrated and easy to follow. Simply press out the pre-cut pieces you need for each step, follow the instructions and slot the parts together. No glue, no mess, and no fuss. The kids and I also love the little box that you build for storing the marbles in – it’s so cute.

The Finished Build – Two Games in One

Once you have finished building your Marble Labyrinth, you can enjoy playing two different games. The first one is the traditional game where you pop a marble at the starting point and then use the push and pull tabs to steer the marble to the finish line, without letting it fall through. Once you have mastered this and feel ready for a new challenge, you can move the walls around to create your own labyrinth designs. You can also rearrange the four base boards to mix things up further. 

The second game is called Marble Frenzy. To play this game, replace the labyrinth boards with the Marble Frenzy layer and you’re ready to go. Place four marbles in the start area then use your skills to guide each of the marbles into the scoring holes, avoiding the trap holes! See how many points you get.
