About the new set

The doddl Mealtime Development Box was designed in collaboration with occupational therapists, nutritionists and Norland College, and through comprehensive research. It’s a complete baby to toddler mealtime development set – the first of its kind – to support every developmental stage from the start of weaning from six months to five years, all in one box.

The set consists of nine products that support three key stages of a child’s development:

  1. First Tastes (6–12 months)
  2. Building Confidence (12–24 months)
  3. Independence Unlocked (24 months to 5+ years)

First Tastes (6–12 months)

For the earliest stage, the Baby Cutlery & Case set features ergonomic handles designed to develop grip from a palmer grasp to a pincer grip.

The 2-in-1 Suction Bowl has an oval shape with a higher back to make scooping easier and a lower front to improve food visibility for sensory development. The strong suction base can be removed later on to reveal a non-slip surface as your baby grows.

Building Confidence (12–24 months)

Toddlers moving into the Building Confidence stage can use the Toddler Spoon and Fork (with Case) that feature specially shaped, weighted handles. These help develop grip strength, coordination and dexterity.

The 2-in-1 Suction Plate has a wide, oval shape to keep food within easy reach. It also features a raised back and a lipped front to reduce mess. Additionally, the plate is deliberately unsectioned to avoid creating food sensory issues. The splat design focuses the eye on the centre of the plate. Just like on the bowl above, the suction base can be removed later on to reveal a non-slip surface.

Independence Unlocked (24 months to 5+ years)

The final stage introduces the Toddler Knife as part of the Toddler Cutlery Set. This is a cleverly designed product that encourages the grip and wrist movements needed for adult cutlery. At this stage, it’s a good idea to transition the bowl and plate from suction to the non-slip bases, to continue to support your child as they refine their self-feeding skills.

The years from first bite to the first day of school are some of the most developmentally significant of a child’s life, and mealtimes sit right at the heart of that journey. With three meals a day from six months to five years, children have around 5,000 mealtimes and each one is an opportunity for development.

doddl is the only mealtime system engineered to make every single one count. We created this collection to give parents one complete set that grows with their child, turning everyday mealtimes into joyful development opportunities.”

Doddl Toddler Cutlery Review - Revolutionary Children's Cutlery A Mum Reviews
My daughter using doddl back in 2017

Why we love doddl

We have been fans of doddl since back in 2017 when my second child was a toddler and using the doddl Toddler Cutlery Set. It was a brilliant set, definitely our favourite, and we were so impressed by the clever design. The set was used way beyond 5 years before being passed on, still looking as good as new which speaks for the amazing quality too.

It’s great to see that doddl has expanded their product range with their baby cutlery, their clever bowls and plates that grow with your child, and the handy travel cases for their cutlery sets, making them easier to use on the go.

The new doddl Mealtime Development Box is fantastic and makes a great investment for your child’s weaning journey and beyond and a wonderful gift to give to a loved one who’s had a baby.

Collaboration.
