Easy Energy Balls Recipe

My basic recipe for energy balls is approximately 400ml of oats, half a small jar of peanut butter (my kids prefer smooth but any is fine and you can also use other nut butters), a couple of teaspoons of good quality vanilla extract and 100 grams of chocolate chips. I sometimes need to add a dash of cold water to bring it together but that depends on the consistency of the nut butter.

Simply mix all the ingredients together with a spoon except for the chocolate chips which are best added at the end. After adding and mixing in the chocolate chips, roll into balls (I make smaller ones for the kids) and put in an airtight container in the fridge. After a few hours, they’re ready to be eaten. They’re fine for a few days in the fridge so you can enjoy them as snacks or as part of your breakfast for a few days.

Boost With Bioglan Superfoods

The energy balls are full of slow release carbs and fibre from the oats, lots of protein and fat from the nut butter and a bit of sweetness and yummy flavour from the vanilla extract and the chocolate chips.

You can make them work even better for your body by boosting them with Bioglan Superfoods powders.

We have these three that can easily be added to my basic energy balls recipe for extra goodness:

  • Digestive Boost which is a microbiome-friendly blend of live bacteria, fibre and digestive enzymes. Each serving contains 500 million live cultures, and inulin which is a fibre naturally found in vegetables such as chicory. It also contains nettle leaf, dandelion, turmeric and calcium (which helps the function of digestive enzymes in the gut). The powder has a natural vanilla flavour to fit well into breakfast foods or recipes. One teaspoon is one serving.
  • Super Protein which is a vegan, energy-enhancing blend of adaptogenic superfoods ashwagandha, maca, ginseng and schisandra and plant-based pea and rice protein, enhanced with vitamins C, B6 and yerba mate. It’s very high in plant based protein and has no added flavours or sweeteners so can be used to boost all kinds of recipes, both savoury and sweet. Two teaspoons is one serving.
  • Flax + Chia is a simple nutrient-packed and tasty combination of golden flax seeds and chia seeds. These two super seeds are high in fibre, protein, amino acids, slow-release carbohydrates, minerals and omega fatty acids. The seeds are milled to make it easy to use in different meals and recipes and also to make it easier for your body to absorb the nutrients. One serving is 2-3 teaspoons.

These are all brilliant products and such an easy way to boost your diet with nutrients to make it healthier. I love that they can be used in so many different ways and in different kinds of foods and recipes so that you can find a way that works well for you.
