Many people think about shots, lemon slices and salt when they hear the word “tequila” but this is something else. KAH Reposado Tequila is not for doing quick shots to get drunk — it’s for sipping, savouring and enjoying. Tequila! It makes you happy!

It’s an extremely smooth, ultra-high proof (ABV 55%) tequila full of amazing flavour. KAH Reposado Tequila is aged for 10 months in French top quality casks from Limousin which help the tequila acquire its beautiful notes of sweet vanilla and smooth caramel.

This beautiful tequila is full of intense flavours and you can really taste the agave which is delicious! When you open the bottle, you can smell all these yummy flavours in the scent — so sweet and syrupy and somehow you can even smell the smoothness. It’s a tequila with a very high alcohol content so naturally, it smells strong but not just like booze — all the other flavours come through in the scent too.

The flavour is amazing! There are not that many spirits that I enjoy neat, but this one is so truly smooth and pleasant that I do. My husband and I tried drinking it in a few different ways — neat, over ice and with mango juice and neat is the best way to experience it as you can taste it best that way. We found that drinking it over ice made the alcohol taste come through a bit more so room temperature is better — and it should be sipped and enjoyed slowly. If drinking with a mixer like juice, I suggest not adding too much of the mixer as you still want to be able to really taste the tequila. 1/3 or 1/4 of tequila in the juice is a good ratio, in my opinion.

I’m not surprised that this tequila won the 2011 TEQUILA.net Awards “Best of the Best” Best High-Proof Tequila and was also awarded a Gold award in the International Review of Spirits — the quality is amazing. It’s the best tequila I’ve ever had and probably the best spirit too. My husband loves it too!

Tequila is a summer drink for us. We love making tequila cocktails when it’s sunny! KAH Reposado Tequila would make the best margarita ever. I’m day dreaming about margaritas in the sunshine now. Surely summer is nearly here?

The cool bottle designed can’t be ignored either. I love a statement bottle! The painted skull design was influenced by the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos. Each bottle is unique and hand painted to resemble Calaveras which are the sugary skulls that are handed out at the traditional Mexican festivals. They are meant to represent that death is merely a passing from one life to the other.

The bottle looks brilliant and does a good job showing just how special the tequila inside is too. There are a few more types of tequilas in this range — KAH Blanco Tequila and KAH Anejo Tequila. The latter has tastes of coffee, chocolate and tobacco which sounds very interesting too.
