Norfolk Natural Living Review + Kitchen Sink Makeover

An area of our house that I’ve been wanting to make more eco friendly is our kitchen sink and I’ve recently given it a bit of a makeover with products from Norfolk Natural Living, a small lovely company that makes natural, sustainable home and garment products in their Norfolk workshop.

Norfolk Natural Living specialises in natural cleaning products for the home and the online shop has a beautiful selection of natural cleaning products, cleaning tools, skincare, laundry products, scented candles and diffusers and more. All products are stunning to look at in their minimalist recycled packaging or natural materials.

Back to our sink… I wasn’t happy with anything around our sink really and wanted to change our soap and dish-washing detergent to more eco friendly options as well at look into different cleaning and dish-washing tools to replace disposable scourers.

Our new products from Norfolk Natural Living are:

  • Scented Vinegar (rose)
  • Hand Wash (sea salt)
  • Dish Wash (sea salt)
  • Copper Cleaning Pad
  • Pot Brush

The Scented Vinegar is one of Norfolk Natural Living’s most popular products. Vinegar works great as a cleaning product — it cleanses, removes limescale, neutralises odours and removes germs — but not everyone is keen on the smell of vinegar. Here’s a scented version for people like that! It’s available in Rose and Lavender and comes in a reusable spray bottle made from recycled plastic.

I’m personally not that keen on the Rose scent that I have but will try the Lavender next time. If you go to the product listing on Norfolk Natural Living, you can get your first bottle for free. The Scented Vinegar does an amazing job at removing limescale from our sink and adding lots of shine back to the stainless steel. We get lots more limescale in our new house and this product is the best I’ve found — it works better than stainless steel cleansers and regular vinegar. This is a new sink essential for me to keep my sink looking its best and limescale away!

I love our new Hand Wash and Dish Wash. Both are in the Sea Salt scent which smells amazing! The scent reminds me of a soap my family had when I was little and it takes me back to warm days at our summer house, spending days playing outdoors. Both products are very gentle on my skin but cleanse well too. Both botanical products combine modern plant-based technology with naturally derived active ingredients.

I was really curious to try the Copper Cleansing Pad as I’m looking for a good scourer alternative. This pad is designed to be used on delicate kitchen and tableware. You use it with warm soapy water and though it’s made to be non-abrasive, I had mixed results. It works amazingly on my oven trays (steel and glass) and gets rid of any burnt on food etc without leaving any marks but it did scratch my Viners steel pan. It’s still functional but has scratch marks from this pad. So I’d recommend trying a small area on things before use just to make sure before going all in. I don’t use it on my pans but love it on my oven trays!

The Pot Brush is a beautiful beachwood handled brush with firm, sturdy bristles to tackle the dirtiest of pans and dishes and is brilliant on burnt on food. I use it on lasagna dishes and things like that that is always a nightmare to wash and also use it to scrub the sink clean after doing the dishes. The handle is really comfortable to hold and the brush looks lovely next to the sink too.

I’m much happier with our sink now with natural products that work well and look stylish too!
