Spilly Spoon Review – The Award-Winning Non-Spill Medicine Spoon

If you’re a parent, you’ve probably struggled to get your baby or child to take liquid vitamins and medicines. I know I have! My eldest daughter is three and a half years old and she does like taking her vitamins now and can do so with the spoon that comes with most medicines but it’s always quite messy and I have to balance the spoon (I’m quite clumsy!) and try to get it all in her mouth so it’s not the easiest thing to do. My youngest is 15 months old and she absolutely hates taking medicines and vitamins from the syringe dispenser that you get with things like Calpol and the spoon will not work with her as the medicine just goes all over the place.

I thought it was the flavour she didn’t like but now I know it was the method and lack of control when somebody else puts food or drink in your mouth. She likes to feed herself and has done so for a very long time so it’s really a natural thing to take her vitamins herself too.Spilly Spoon Review - The Award-Winning Non-Spill Medicine Spoon A Mum Reviews

I was recently introduced to a product called Spilly Spoon which is a solution that helps your toddler or child take their medicine themselves. It’s a safe and non-spill medicine spoon that is fun for kids and takes the stress out of the situation for the parents.

It looks like a caterpillar which is appealing for children and the shape is quite practical too as it’s easy to see the measurements and easy to hold for small hands. The spoon can hold up to 10 ml of liquid medicine laid flat on a surface which is very convenient as it lets you pick up your child, if needed, to administer the medicine. You can measure the medicine accurately on the calibrated section in measurements of 2.5ml, 5ml, 7.5ml and 10ml.

I really didn’t think this product would make such a difference to our everyday life but it really has! My eldest loves taking her vitamins using the “funny caterpillar spoon” and my youngest who used to cry every time I gave her her liquid vitamins, can now take them herself and is really enjoying it too! It’s a very happy experience now, without any stress involved for anyone which is lovely!

We have one for each child so that they can take their vitamins at the same time. The Spilly Spoons are easy to wash with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher. You can also sterilise them.

Every parent should have some Spilly Spoons at home! You can buy them here for £4.99 each. They’re manufactured in Britain too which is great!Spilly Spoon Review - The Award-Winning Non-Spill Medicine Spoon A Mum Reviews

My girls had quite a bad cold last week with a chesty cough too so we were happy to try SuperKalimagiK calming cough suspension alongside these Spilly Spoons. SuperKalimagiK is a sister brand of Spilly Spoon.

It’s a cough suspension that gently soothes sore throats and coughs. It’s made from natural ingredients including honey, glycerol and lemon oil and contains no added sugar. It’s sweet and delicious and both my girls loved taking it. You can take it 3-4 times a day to help reduce the symptoms of your cold.

“Suitable for children over one year of age, it contains no pharmacologically active ingredients making Superkalimagik Calming Cough Suspension the safe, simple solution to the symptoms caused by upper respiratory tract infections.”

It only costs £2.95 and is available to buy here.

We were sent these products for this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
