Pure Plant Protein from Sunflower Family – Vegan Mince, Chunks, Bolo & Burger Mix

Pure Plant Protein – Sunflower Family Mince, Chunks, Bolo & Burger Mix | AD
I have been a vegetarian for over 25 years now and have tried lots of different plant-based products. I don’t eat many meat-substitutes as I don’t miss meat in any way. Something that I do enjoy using every week is plant-based mince, to add protein to various dishes. Recently, I’ve been sampling the pure plant protein range from Sunflower Family. Since it’s Veganuary now, I thought I’d share more about the products in this range. Read on to find out more.

Sunflower Family: Pure Plant Protein
Sunflower Family is a German brand that is a pioneer in innovative, single-ingredient plant-based protein. They have recently launched their product portfolio in the UK, introducing a new line of plant-based protein products made exclusively from the power of sunflower seeds. The brand is committed to providing sustainable, delicious, and highly nutritious food that is also inherently free from major food allergens like soy and gluten.

The product line includes four versatile products:
- Sunflower Mince – ideal for Bolognese, lasagne, chilli, burgers and more.
- Sunflower Chunks – a great option for stews, stir-frys, and curries, for example.
- Sunflower Bolo Mix – a dry mix to create a vegan Bolognese sauce.
- Sunflower Burger Mix – a dry mix to make delicious meat-free burgers or meatballs.
The mince and the chunks can be soaked before cooking or just added to the dish when cooking where the product will soak up some of the sauce/liquid. The Bolo Mix is added to hot water for 5 minutes to create a sauce that can be eaten as it is. The Burger Mix is added to water and a bit of oil, then placed in the fridge for 30 minutes, before being shaped and fried.

Why Sunflower? The Power of the Sunflower
Most plant-based mince on the market rely on soy or wheat. Sunflower Family do things differently though, using organic, de-oiled sunflower seed protein. This is a sustainable by-product of sunflower oil production so using this minimises waste. It also maximises the nutritional profile of the finished product.
The range has a superior allergen-friendly profile, being 100% free from the top 14 allergens, including gluten, soy, nuts, and dairy. The products are also high in protein and fibre – both essential for a balanced diet.

Each pack has an RRP of £4.99 and contains 3 or 4 servings depending on the product. Sunflower Family products are available in the UK from health stores and online.
Collaboration.
