The Children’s Meditations In My Heart Review

The Children’s Meditations In My Heart Review | AD
Reading to kids at bedtime is such an important part of the daily evening routine. It’s a soothing activity that helps your child’s brain to know that it’s time to transition from playing to resting. As well as preparing your child for sleep, it also helps lower stress levels, develops early literacy skills, and nurtures the parent-child bond.
When choosing books to read with my children, I look for books that they will enjoy. Additionally, I look for books that I will enjoy reading to them. We have a good mix of books in our home library. From funny and silly books, to rhyming stories, and books specifically written to help children fall asleep. The latter can be a very useful tool for creating a soothing bedtime routine for children who struggle to fall asleep at night.
We have a new book like this that we’ve been reading lately. It’s called The Children’s Meditations In My Heart and it’s written by bestselling Danish author Gitte Winter Graugaard. Read on to find out more about this lovely book.

A Calming Collection of Bedtime Meditations
The Children’s Meditations In My Heart is a gentle and calming collection of bedtime meditations designed to help children fall asleep more easily. Within this collection, you’ll find four guided meditations for parents to read aloud to their children at bedtime:
- I Fill My Heart With Love
- From My Heart, I Send Love
- My Cloud Is Full Of Love
- With The Universe, I Share My Love
These four meditations encourage self-esteem, self-love, and emotional calmness while helping children drift into restorative sleep.
“Self-esteem and self-love are invaluable resources in life that we need to teach our children to help them navigate the constant messages they receive from society and screens, while also helping them recharge emotionally.”
– Gitte Winter Graugaard

Each meditation features two endings to choose from – one for daytime and one for bedtime. At the end of each meditation, there’s also a section to encourage reflection for the parent and some ideas to try with your kids. At the very end of the book, there’s some blank space for you to make your own notes on your and your child’s experiences with the book.
The approach is simple but very powerful. By creating a calm, loving bedtime routine with this book, parents and children can connect through relaxation and mindfulness.
I have been reading The Children’s Meditations In My Heart with my youngest daughter who is the one who struggles the most at bedtime. It seems to be helping her to wind down and drift off to sleep faster, feeling calm and reassured as she falls asleep.
