As you probably know if you are a regular reader, I try to use eco-friendly options where possible around the house – for cleaning, laundry, skincare, and more. Over the past month or so, we’ve been testing some innovative planet-friendly products from The Green Co.

About The Green Co.

The Green Co. is a UK-based brand that creates condensed, eco-conscious cleaning products. The products have been designed to make everyday life a little bit better for families, homes and the planet by simplifying household routines. 

The company actually started as a school project, then grew from local markets to now serving more than 100,000 customers. The small independent team is based in Dundee. 

The brand’s range includes lots of useful everyday products such as laundry detergent and fabric conditioner (in sheet form), cleaning spray tabs and refillable glass bottles, dishwasher tabs, foaming hand soap tabs and refillable glass soap dispensers, and Swedish dish cloths too. 

Testing Products from The Green Co.

We have tested many of the products that The Green Co. offers. You can find more details about those below and read about our experience with each product.

Laundry Products: Laundry Detergent and Fabric Conditioner GreenSheets

The eco laundry detergent sheets are a great way to make your laundry routine more eco-friendly. The detergent sheets dissolve into their liquid state upon contact with water and mix with the water in your washing machine to clean your clothes and work well on cold and quick wash cycles too. Additionally, the sheets come packaged in a biodegradable cardboard pouch. These are plastic-free and take up much less space in your cupboards compared to large cardboard laundry powder boxes and bulky liquid detergent bottles made of plastic. 

Choose between three scent options for these laundry sheets: Lavender, Fresh Linen or Fragrance Free. Unlike many detergents, these scents are delicately balanced and not overpowering at all. 

You can also use these mess-free laundry sheets for handwashing delicate garments or for doing laundry when travelling. The format is really convenient for travelling! They are also suitable for sensitive skin which is great for families. 

The Eco Fabric Conditioner GreenSheets work in a similar way but are designed to keep your laundry soft, fresh, and static‑free. Choose between the scents Calming Lavender or Crisp Fresh Linen, which are both hypoallergenic-approved.

I don’t often use fabric conditioners as they often contain animal-derived ingredients. But these are certified vegan and work really well!

There are sample packs available for GreenSheets so that you can give them a go without having to buy a large pack.

Cleaning Spray, Foaming Hand Soap, and Dishwasher GreenTabs

Next onto cleaning products! I have used other brands of dissolvable tablets that you use to make a cleaning spray at home so the concept is not new to me. You simply pop a tablet into a bottle filled with tap water and let it dissolve, then your cleaning spray is ready to be used.

Eco Cleaning Sprays

The Green Co. has four powerful eco cleaning sprays to choose from (made with plant-powered and non-toxic ingredients):

• Multipurpose
• Kitchen Degreaser
• Bathroom Cleaner
• Glass & Mirror Spray

You can buy them in starter kits that come with a refillable glass bottle (that is very beautiful, by the way!) or you can just get the tablets on their own and use a spray bottle that you already have at home.

The refillable glass forever bottles are colour co-ordinated to match the tablets to make it easy to see which spray is which. You can also get matching Swedish dish cloths for each bottle. Additionally, the non-slip base has the name of the cleaning spray on it too.

We’ve been using the Multipurpose spray as a kitchen cleaner and it works really well. It smells great too and the spray bottle has a stylish design that looks nice on our kitchen worktop.

Using cleaning tablets and refillable spray bottles is a great way to reduce your home’s waste. They also mean that you don’t need to carry heavy bottles home from the supermarket! The tablets from The Green Co. are free from harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances. They are also hypoallergenic, non‑toxic, and gentle on skin, making them ideal for households with young children, babies, or pets. All while being kind to the planet, of course.

Eco Hand Soap

The Foaming Hand Soap GreenTabs work the same. Simply pop a tablet into the elegant, refillable glass soap dispenser that you get in your Starter Kit and soon your handwash is ready to use. The refills are also sold separately. The soap dispenser is available with a choice of colour for the non-slip base (Dusty Blue, Muted Olive, Pale Taupe, and Slate Black).

There are four scents to choose from:

• Coconut & Sandalwood
• Lavender & Vanilla
• Citrus & Mint
• Rosemary & Eucalyptus

We’ve been testing the Coconut & Sandalwood fragrance which smells lovely. The soap foams up beautifully and feels gentle on the skin. The kids love using it too which is great!

Eco Dishwasher Tablets

Last, but not least, we have also tested the Eco Dishwasher GreenTabs from The Green Co. and they were amazing!

We recently had some issues with some dishwasher tablets from a big name brand and I am pleased to say that the Dishwasher GreenTabs work really well, without any issues at all.

They’re powerful all‑in‑one eco dishwasher tablets made with plant-powered, non‑toxic ingredients. You don’t need to add anything extra to your machine – these tabs will tackle grease, stains, and even baked-on messes. Additionally, they are fully biodegradable and come without any plastic films to unwrap, in a cardboard box. 

There are sample packs available for these too, if you want to try them before buying a larger box. I think you’ll love them though! I’m impressed, at least!
