Wool Overs Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan Review

Cashmere is a material that I’ve always thought of as luxurious (which it is), unattainable and maybe even unsuitable for my lifestyle. I’d been dreaming of having a super soft cashmere scarf or cardigan to wrap up in but my life has always been full of kids and mess. I have younger siblings that I grew up with, then started working in childcare from an early age and continued to do so until two years ago when I started having kids of my own.

I’m also a bit clumsy and known to spill on my clothes/the floor/the sofa so I can’t have any clothing items that are dry clean only because that would get very expensive!Wool Overs Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan Review A Mum Reviews

Wool Overs sell affordable men’s and ladies’ classic and contemporary knit wear made from cotton, wool and the finest cashmere and they have a cashmere and merino range that is perfectly suitable for busy mums.

There are loads of different designs and colours in this range and they are all made from a super soft 30% cashmere and 70% merino wool blend which gives you the luxury of cashmere but the durability and convenience of a wool item that can be washed at home in the washing machine after a long day.Wool Overs Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan Review A Mum Reviews

The item that I chose from this range is the Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan which is a gorgeous, long, free-flowing cardigan that suits all body shapes. It’s very flattering and lovely! I’m usually a size Small or Medium in clothes but opted for a Large this time as I’m heavily pregnant at the moment and I wanted something that was lose-fitting and would work well with my bump. A waterfall cardigan was the perfect choice!

It’s available in six autumnal colours and I opted for Charcoal as it’s a colour that suits my skin tone and goes with pretty much all clothes. At £55, it’s a bargain for a cashmere item of this size.wool overs

The cardigan is very comfortable to wear and the cashmere and merino blend is very soft and nice. The big question was how this blend performs before and after being washed in a washing machine. I’m really pleased with the result and can tell you that the material looks lovely after being washed at 40 degrees on the Wool setting of my washing machine with a non-bio detergent. I even think that the material feels softer than before I washed it! The cardigan kept its shape and looks just the same as before I washed it. The photo below shows a close up of the material (and my bump!) after it had been washed. As you can see, there’s no bobbling.

It looks like I can wear cashmere items after all and I love it!Wool Overs Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan Review A Mum Reviews

If you follow Wool Overs washing instructions for their different blends, your knitwear will last for many years to come and withstand being machine washed at home. Choosing the right settings on your washing machine and using the correct type of non-bio detergent are essential steps in caring for your garments. Look out for the wool symbol on your detergent to make sure it’s suitable.Wool Overs Cashmere & Merino Waterfall Cardigan Review A Mum Reviews
