Fashion Essentials to Pack for your Summer Holiday
|Fashion Essentials to Pack for your Summer Holiday
The weather is finally warming up and summer is nearly here! With that comes the need to update your wardrobe with some summery items suitable for the warmer seasons. Perhaps you’ve got a nice holiday in the sunshine booked too? Then you’ve come to the right place as this article is all about the fashion essentials to pack for your summer holiday. Let’s get started!
- Swimwear & Beach Wear
Most holidays to sunny locations will include swimming of some sorts weather in a hotel swimming pool or in the sea. On holiday, you’ll most likely be spending quite a lot of time by the pool and/or on the beach, so you’ll want a few options for swimwear to rotate. Weather you prefer a bikini, or a swimsuit is of course up to you. Choose swimwear items from locoboutique.com that flatter your body type, that are comfortable to wear, stay in place, and make you feel great!
A sarong or a beach cover up is great to have as well as these take you from poolside or the beach to the bar or lunch restaurant without the need to get changed.
Take a suitable bag to use for going to the pool/beach too – a large, stylish straw tote will be practical as it can fit all the swim/beach essentials and suits the summery vibe perfectly too. A fashionable tote bag will look good enough to come with you to restaurants as well. Holiday life should be relaxing and easy with smooth transitions between different activities.
The essentials for me that need to fit in my beach tote are sun cream with a high SPF, sunglasses, a sunhat, a good book, a light and compact beach towel, a beach cover up and some cash for ice creams and drinks.
- Summer Shoes
Summertime is the perfect time to have fun with footwear and explore different styles. Before you go on your holiday, have a pedicure (at home or by visiting a salon) to ensure that your feet are looking their best ready to be on show.
For the beach and poolside, you’ll need some flip-flops or sliders. These come in lots of different designs and styles to choose from – just make sure they are suitable to be used in wet and sandy environments.
You might want some other sandals to wear when exploring the local surroundings – some light, comfortable trainers would work for this too.
For evenings out on holiday, visiting restaurants and bars, it’s nice to dress up with some heels to go with your summery dresses. Wedges and platform heels look great with dresses and are also easy to walk in, even on cobbled streets! Another great option for the same reasons is block heels – these are great for creating dressier looks.
- Summery Dresses
When the weather is hot, there’s nothing better than wearing floaty summery dresses made from lightweight, breathable fabrics. They look amazing too and come it so many different styles and cuts to suit different body types so there’s something for everyone. I generally opt for dresses with short sleeves for a bit of sun protection on the shoulders too but also have some sleeveless ones for when it’s very warm.
Linen is a great material for hot weather, and I find that thin jersey fabrics keep me quite cool too. Your summer wardrobe should have some comfortable options for all day wear and some dressier ones for evenings out. If you’re lucky, you’ll find some dresses that tick all the boxes.
Since you’ll be packing your dresses in a suitcase, opt for materials that don’t crease too badly and don’t need ironing to look good as the last thing you want to do when you’re on holiday is to start ironing! If you pack your clothing carefully and hang your dresses up when you arrive at your destination, they should look fine.
- More Summer Outfits
Jumpsuits are great summer clothes too and are another complete outfit just like dresses. They come in casual and dressier styles and are usually very comfortable to wear while looking good too.
For daytime exploring, some comfortable shorts and lightweight t-shirts are ideal. Denim shorts are a classic and linen options are great too. Opt for t-shirts in light colours to keep you cool and look for loose fits and breathable materials.
- Other Accessories
As well as the right selection of footwear and a great beach bag, there are some more accessories that a great for holiday outfits. One of my favourites is a large sunhat to protect your face and neck from the sun while also giving you a glamourous holiday look. Go big but think about how it will pack into your suitcase when you choose your summer hat.
Have fun accessorising your summer wardrobe with a few different pairs of sunglasses and jewellery too. Classic solid gold and sterling silver jewellery is durable and can handle holiday activities such as swimming in the sea, while beaded necklaces and bracelets and colourful gems instantly add that holiday vibe.
Collaboration.
