National Tea Day & the Cake Crew’s Beautifully Crafted Cupcakes

Today, Saturday 21^st April, it’s National Tea Day! I love tea and something I love even more is having something sweet to go with my cuppa. In Sweden we have something called Fika which is pretty much a drink and something to eat with it and that habit is still with me even though I’ve lived in the UK for nearly a decade.

Fika according to the Urban Dictionary

“A Swedish word, pronounced feekah. It is when you eat e.g. a sweet cake, cookie or even regular sandwich, normally with some kind of beverage. Preferably coffee or tea, but any form of soda is commonly accepted!”

Over the past week, I’ve been spoilt with a delicious selection of beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious cupcakes from the Cake Crew. I’ve been enjoying my Fika even more than usual, that’s for sure! My current tea of choice is the Organic Wake Up Brew by Nipper & Co.

The Cake Crew’s cupcake range is available in four delicious flavours:

• Strawberry
• Chocolate
• Red Velvet
• Salted Caramel

Each of these premium sponge cakes features a delicious centre of either real fruit jam, caramel or premium chocolate sauce, and is then topped with a rich buttercream frosting. The final touch is a hand-finished and tasty decoration like gold chocolate flakes, golden fudge squares or real fruit pieces.

All of the cakes from the Cake Crew are made with natural ingredients with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

I’ve tried all four flavours with the help of my two daughters and my husband and they are SO GOOD. I especially love the Red Velvet and the Salted Caramel.

The Red Velvet was so moist and had a delicious chocolate filling which contrasted beautifully with the creamy frosting.

Salted caramel is always a hit for me! I love the sweet and salty mix and it was spot on in these cupcakes. This was my husband’s favourite.

My eldest daughter loves the chocolate one the best — she’s all about chocolate! It’s dark and rich and everything is chocolatey!

My youngest loves strawberries so her favourite was the classic strawberry cupcake. It worked out perfectly that we all had different favourites!

The cakes are available in single packs (RRP £1.29) or twin packs (RRP £1.99). Perfect for a little gift for a loved one or simply an afternoon treat to enjoy with your cup of tea. They also come in mixed platters of 9 minis (RRP £3.24) or 12 full-sized cupcakes (£9.99) for bigger events or larger families!
