Research, Review & Giveaway – Peli Ultimate Mobile Protection Cases
The new generation is hands-on and even really young kids use technology as part of their daily lives. Did you know that 18% of children aged between six and eight now own their own mobile phone according to research among 2,000 consumers carried out by Peli, the global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance protection cases. This rises to nearly 20% for children between 9 and 11 and over 50% for children over the age of 13. I think I was 15 when I got my first very basic mobile phone!
“Parents don’t usually share their mobile devices with kids for speaking to someone — parents loan their smartphones to keep their children occupied. Over 20% of parents in the research said they loaned their phones to their children at restaurants; 18% in a doctor’s or dentist’s waiting room; and 22% generally when outside the home. Only 29% of respondents said they did not loan their mobile to their children, with the majority passing it out for at least a little while.”
— Estefania Fenoy, Marketing Director EMEA at Peli.
Parents allow their children to the use their phone for a range of time — from 49% saying they allow use for one hour a week; 33% up to five hours a week; 10% five to 10 hours a week; 2.5% allow 10-15 hours a week; and 4% allow over 15 hours a week.
I let my three-year-old use my phone or iPad to watch educational videos or play language or drawing games and I think it’s brilliant. I do limit the screen time but I think iPads and smartphones can be very helpful for parents and educational for kids.
My daughter has learnt loads from watching videos on YouTube and playing flashcard games to learn new words in two languages. The times that we tend to use these devices are when travelling, when out for longer periods (a few Peppa Pig episodes on a long car journey or when waiting for a long time somewhere) or at home when I need to get a little bit of work done and our baby is sleeping, for example.
The research by Peli shows that 72% of mobile phone owners have damaged or broken their phones — usually from a careless slip by a member of the family. 50% of owners of broken phones don’t get them repaired for at least a month and 25% of people don’t get them fixed at all!
When letting children or other clumsy family members play with expensive and important equipment, it’s a good idea to protect them.
Peli Products offer the ultimate protection with their cases that make sure your device is protected when the kids are using them and also when on the go. The cases have Peli’s DNA — protective cases that withstand the most extreme conditions on earth and they also carry a Lifetime Guarantee.
The Peli range delivers extreme protection and includes:
- The Vault – giving ultimate protection for iPhones and with a reinforced compartment where valuables are stored.
- The Voyager which showcases the colour of the phone and offers 4 layers of protection.
- The Adventurer which is one of the slimmest cases on the market with a clear back to show the colour of the phone.
- The sleek Guardian designed for Europeans by David Ahmad whose Award-winning designs include those for the interior of the Ferrari F488.

Review
I have the Peli Vault case for my iPad Mini and I love it! It’s a watertight case with advanced shock absorbtion that can handle being dropped. It’s been tested to Military 810G Specifications for 1,2m drop protection. It protects my iPad from dust too, of course. It’s got a 5-layer protection and feels so sturdy! It fits my iPad Mini perfectly and you can still press all the buttons and plug in the charging cable and headphones.
It’s great for when we have the iPad with us somewhere as it protects it in my bag too. The case can be opened to stand in different ways for when you don’t want to use it laid down. It’s a bit heavier than a regular case but this is fine with me since it offers so much more protection.
I’ve not dropped the iPad nor have my daughter dropped it yet but it feels strong enough to handle it!
