We are big book worms in this family and I’m very fond of beautiful children’s books to read with my girls. The love of books has rubbed off on them and we love reading together and individually.
There are many children’s books out there in mainstream shops and it can be difficult to choose as the choice and selection is so overwhelming. I think it’s lovely that Luna & Cash has a smaller selection of carefully selected, very special children’s books that make perfect gifts for your own children or other children.

When I saw this book, I had my middle daughter in mind and the story is about a younger sister who thinks her big sister is always the star, not her. The heart-warming story shows their grandad showing the girl that we’re all stars in our own ways, we are all unique, important and can make a difference.
The book is sweet and empowering at the same time and the illustrations by Briony May Smith are lovely! The theme of stars and space is perfect for bedtime reading too. Jeanne Willis is an award-winning author that has written over 150 books published worldwide. We’ll be checking out more of her books!
This book was written for The National Trust and is a wonderful, illustrated hardback picture book with a nature poem for every day of the year. It’s so special! It’s big and absolutely beautiful!
My eldest daughter is quite into poetry and loves readying this! I want to start a new routine where we read the daily poem together each morning.
The book includes 366 poems by various poets and lots of amazing illustrations too. I love the fact that the book experience lasts too as you read one poem each day, then you can start again the following year.
Another gorgeous book and a brilliant idea! Slow Down by Rachel Williams is a book with an aim to bring much needed calm to a busy world with nature stories for children to enjoy. The large, hardback book contains 50 stories with different themes that encourage us to slow down and notice the calm and beauty in nature and around us.
It’s beautiful and a great way to encourage children to get outdoors and explore further after learning something new from the book!
