4 Unique Features Moms Shouldn’t Let Go
|4 Unique Features Moms Shouldn’t Let Go
Being a mom is one of the most important occupations in the world because being a mom is a full-time, 24-7, job. You brought these human beings into the world, and now you took on the humongous task of feeding, teaching and loving them. During this transition, you might have started to put what made you unique on the back burner with the idea in your head that “it’s how a mom should look.” This can’t be further from the truth! In this blog, we will explore four unique features moms shouldn’t let go of.
- Tattoos
Your body is a beautiful canvas, and many decide to commemorate life choices, people or big events by tattooing it on them. You might have a few tattoos on your body before becoming a mom, but you put all thoughts of your next masterpiece out of your head once your little ones come into your life. Don’t let go of this unique feature of you! Instead, incorporate this new chapter in your life with what makes you happy. You can commission a half or full sleeve for your kids and their life achievements. Starting from their birth, you can put their first heartbeats on your arm with their date of birth. You might want to add a portrait of them and maybe add a new one every few years to show how they grow. However, you want to do it, but don’t stop yourself with the thought that this is not how a mom should behave. Although if you do regret some of the tattoos you had you can opt for a tattoo removal and see if you can get a new one on the healed tattoo removal with your child’s achievements or memories.
- Piercings
Who doesn’t love some sparkle and bling in their ears? However, you might have been one of the thousands of women who didn’t just stop at the singular set of earring piercings. But due to your pregnancy and early stages of child care, you took out your belly ring, nose ring and even tongue ring. And now you are contemplating not reinserting them or adding more piercings because the stereotypical mom doesn’t have multiple piercings. Don’t forgo this unique feature of yourself! Reinsert them because that is one of the things that make you unique. Just be careful of dangling earrings and chains if your baby is still small, as they can grab and yank it out. However, nothing is stopping you from getting more piercings if that is what you are itching to do. Just make sure that you follow the aftercare to the T. For example, if you have always wanted to get a philtrum piercing, make sure that you follow the philtrum piercing care guide to prevent infections.
- Hair Color
Blond, red, black, brown… the standard everyday hair colour. They are so common that people even start to stereotype a person based on their hair colour. But not you. Before becoming a mom, you were known as a trendsetter or the clasher with your bold and daring hair colour. People used to stop and look at you in awe at your controversial hair colour. However, now you second-guessing yourself and thinking, how will it look while pushing a pram? Being a mom doesn’t mean you have to start being boring! Go to the salon and get your blue tips (or even full head?) done. Let them gasp at you while strutting your new purple head of hair around the park. Become your own type of unicorn – mythical and beautiful!
- Wardrobe
And finally, we come to a very important feature for all moms – the wardrobe. Think back to what style or even colour you wore before becoming a mom. Did you love it? Do you miss it? Then why did you stop wearing it? If you are known as the woman who loves her Hello Kitty t-shirts, then start wearing them. Or if you were the studded belt and Doc Martens woman, go online and add them to your shopping cart. If you really are not so daring as to wear your favourite clothing items to the next PTA meeting, then keep an outfit or two of “mom-approved” attire for events like this. But nothing stops you from still letting this differentiative feature of yourself shine.
There is no mould of how a perfect mom should be. Being a mom is all about showering your kids with love, guiding them in life and teaching them what is important. And one of these important aspects of life is being yourself. You are also a role model for them, so show them that no matter what happens in life, it is important always to embrace being yourself – unique features and all. If you did lose your unique features, now is the time to re-embrace them and become your true self.
