Beautiful Bingo Games for the Family by Laurence King Publishing
|Beautiful Bingo Games for the Family by Laurence King Publishing
In our house, we love playing family games together. Our most recent additions are a trio of beautifully illustrated and educational bingo games from Laurence King Publishing. There are lots of different themes to choose from whether you’re into Birds, Bugs, Dogs, Cats, The Royal Family, Scary things or other fun themes! We have the Dinosaur edition, the Jungle edition and the Ocean edition. I’ll get into all of these shortly.
Due to the current lockdown situation, Laurence King Publishing has also launched a Virtual Bingo Party with two free downloadable bingo cards from every product so you can join in the fun remotely as long as another member of your party has a full set and can be the caller. Find out more information about how to host your own Virtual Bingo Party here.
Jungle Bingo & Dinosaur Bingo
Jungle Bingo with illustrations by Caroline Selmes is a fun children’s edition bingo with lots of exotic animals to learn about. The illustrations are bright and fun and there are so many fascinating and beautiful jungle and African savanna creatures to learn about while playing a fun bingo game.
The set includes 48 illustrated animal chips and a cardboard lion’s head to store them in, a game board, eight double-sided bingo cards and jungle counters for you to mark up your card.
The rules are quick and easy to learn. You can choose to have a “Caller” who takes the big board and is in charge of the tokens or you can play like we do and all join in and take turns taking a token.
We like to put the large board in the middle of the table so everyone can see, then we all join in with our own board. The children love the box that stores the animal chips but it’s a bit fiddly to get them out sometimes.
The Dinosaur Bingo version (also illustrated by Caroline Selmes) is very similar but features lots of interesting dinosaurs instead. Lots of them that I haven’t even heard of!
The complete list of dinosaurs featured is below:
Allosaurus, Brontosaurus, Fabrosaurus, Maiasura, Pamparaptor, Spinosaurus, Alvarezsurus, Byronosaurus, Gigantosaurus, Micropachy-Cephalosaurus, Patagotitan, Stegosaurus, Amargasaurus, Carnotaurus, Hadrosaurus, Microraptor, Pentaceratops, Styracosaurus, Anchiornis, Centrosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Nodosaurs, Plateosaurus, Therizinosaurus, Anchisaurus, Chasmosaurus, Heterodontosaurus, Ornithomimus, Polacanthus, Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, Diplodocus, Hypsilophodon, Ouranosaurus, Saurolophus, Tyrannosaurus, Archaeopteryx, Edmontosaurus, Irritator, Oviraptor, Scolosaurus, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Euhelopus, Lambeosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Vulcanodon
This version is ideal for children (and adults) who love dinosaurs! It’s fun and exciting and I’m sure you’ll learn some dinosaur names that you didn’t know before!

Ocean Bingo
Ocean Bingo with illustration by Holly Exley is another family-friendly bingo game. This one is slightly larger than the Jungle and Dinosaur bingos and the design is a bit more grown-up. The illustrations are more realistic and muted in colours — they’re absolutely beautiful.
The game works the same way, but instead of a cardboard box, you get a fabric bag to store your pieces in which is easier to play with in our opinion.
You get 64 species in this game — some old favourites that we all know (emperor penguin, killer whale, sea otter…) and some new and weird creatures from the bottom of the ocean! It’s great to learn about these and doing the learning as a family while having fun playing a game together.
This game also comes with a booklet with some information about all the different creatures we meet while playing so that you can easily learn a little bit more about your favourite new ones.
Lots of fun! These Laurence King Publishing bingo games have quickly become some of our favourite family games that we can all play together.
