Build Your Own Binoculars Out of Cardboard

With the Build Your Own Binoculars set you get everything you need to build your own binoculars out of sustainable cardboard. It’s a great set to build and it also encourages outdoor fun once the build is complete as you can use your creation to observe birds and wildlife in nature.

This set is suitable for children aged 8 years and above and adult supervision is recommended. Children can construct the binoculars on their own and ask for help if needed. Or you can make it into a fun family project to enjoy together.

The set consists of 67 press-out high-quality cardboard parts (plus 2 x objective lenses and 2 x eyepiece lenses). You assemble the pieces using slot together techniques so there’s no glue needed. This means no mess and no fuss, which is a huge plus!

To get started, just follow the instructions. Full illustrated instructions are included, and these are quite straightforward to follow.

Our 10-year-old built our set with a little bit of guidance for us parents. She had lots of fun building the binoculars and was very proud of the finished build. The estimated time required to build the binoculars is around 60 minutes and the set has a skill level rating of 4 stars out of 5.

Build Your Own Binoculars – The Finished Build

The completed build looks amazing and very cool with its zingy pops of lime! The aqua green binoculars are fully functioning too. Enjoy a clean and sharp image quality, 6x magnification, a central focus slider, and eyepiece focussing for finer adjustments. The barrels can be adjusted to fit any eye distance gap which is great as it means the whole family can use the binoculars.

The binoculars even have their own tripod stand that you assemble too. This is great for resting your binoculars on when they’re not in use. You also get lens caps to cover the lenses when the binoculars are not in use. Always use these!
