This is a fun Build Your Own set that is perfect for fans of Wallace & Gromit. Build Your Own Wallace & Gromit Feathers McGraw lets you recreate the criminal mastermind from the Oscar-winning animated short Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers.

This set is suitable from age 10 years and above and makes a great activity to do together as a family. Children can build these sets on their own but adult supervision is recommended to ensure the instructions are being followed properly. My kids all joined in with the building and had fun completing the build together.

The Feathers McGraw set is rated 3 stars out of 5 on the skill level rating and I think this rating is fair – there were a few fiddly bits but overall it was very straightforward. This set has 66 press-out parts and takes around one hour to build.

Build Your Own sets are brilliant – everything you need is provided in the kit and all you need to do is follow the instructions, press out the pre-cut parts and slot them together to make your build. You don’t need any scissors or other tools, nor do you need any glue or anything else – perfect mess-free, no fuss fun. Once you have finished your build, you can play with it and/or proudly display it in your home. 

The completed Feathers McGraw build is an impressive 28cm tall and comes complete with a chaos-causing remote-control panel, a red rubber glove hat, and a large diamond – all of which you also build yourself out of pre-cut cardboard pieces, of course.

This villainous penguin also has posable flippers to hold the remote-control panel or the diamond securely. Additionally, this BYO Feathers McGraw also has some impressive and clever mechanics – by manoeuvering the tab on the back, you can make him blink and walk which is very cool. The kids absolutely loved this feature – especially the fact that you can make the penguin’s eyes look really sly at a half blink!
