CloudAloud Review | Educational Audiobook App for Children
|CloudAloud Review | An Educational Audiobook App for Children
I have recently got really into listening to audiobooks myself and have also introduced my children to the joy that is listening to audiobook stories. They love it! I remember fondly listening to stories on tape on a cassette player at bedtime some nights when I was child.
The modern way is an app, of course, and we are using the new CloudAloud app which is an audiobook app for children that helps them with their learning by making literature more accessible and affordable.
All parents know that monitoring and limiting screen time is a tough part of parenthood. During the pandemic, screen use has rocketed amongst children with remote learning and needing entertainment as their parents are working more from home. CloudAloud provides a use of electronic devices that is fun and educational and where your child is not actually staring at a screen as they’re listening to a story whilst playing or resting.
The app has been designed to support literacy for children and to encourage a love of books and reading. The CloudAloud app was created by parents with decades of experience in the publishing and audiobook business and has been designed to be safe and intuitive for children to use independently, but there are parental controls in place too.
You can download the app onto your device on IOS and Android and enjoy a 2-week free trial. After that, the subscription costs just £3.99 a month.
There are hundreds of books to choose from in lots of different genres for children of all ages, with new audiobooks and categories being added all the time from some of the UK’s best independent publishers. You can stream the books or download MP3s of the books to listen to at a later stage.
It’s easy to see which books are free for subscribers, which ones you have purchased and how much the books that you can buy cost. There’s also an option to order physical copies of the books through the app if you want to which is a nice idea. To make any purchase you need to put in the correct answer to a security question set by the parents so you don’t need to worry about any surprise costs.
CloudAloud is a well-designed app that’s easy to use for both children and adults with a great range of books to explore for children of all ages.
We were given a free subscription to test the app. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
