Not a Cat in Sight by Frances Stickley and Eamonn O’Neill

Bright and fun children’s books are always loved in our family so I knew the new book Not a Cat in Sight by author Frances Stickley and debut illustrator Eamonn O’Neill would be a hit.

In this book, we meet Mouse who’s feeling fabulous and is having a wonderful day enjoying life as there is no cat in sight. He’s imagining lots of fun scenarios that he finds that he can enjoy on this perfect day as there’s no cat around… or is there?

Yes, there is! This is a “it’s behind you!” book and the cat is right there but Mouse is blissfully unaware of this. Us readers can spot the cat on the pages but not Mouse – we are one step ahead!

“Mouse was feeling fabulous. The sky was blue and bright.

The day was warm and wonderful, with not a cat in sight…”

The book is written in a clever, bouncing rhyme which is always fun to read and listen to and the illustrations and so bright, colourful, and charming.

It’s a great book for children and my youngest two, 3 and 6 years old, absolutely love it! It’s out on the 28th of April so get your copy from your bookstore then.
