We love eating out as a family, but it had been a while since our last family meal out. Until last weekend, when we headed to Frankie & Benny’s to try a few new things on their menu as well as some classic dishes.

Frankie & Benny’s have recently announced the launch of their best burger ever, so it was the perfect time to visit. This is a proud addition to Frankie & Benny’s new Autumn menu – the star of the show with the best beef and the best bun! Executive head chef Ben Keegans and his team of dedicated chefs have spent months developing this burger to perfection. Read on to find out more.

The Best Burger Ever from Frankie & Benny’s features a new bun made from soft, fluffy dough that is based on a Japanese bread recipe, using free range eggs. The bun has a dark glazed top that is sprinkled with crunchy linseeds. The beef burger itself is made with 100% Red Tractor certified British beef, which means animal welfare is a priority.

Now onto the toppings. The new burger features a simple dressing of mayo to let the burger shine and iceberg lettuce. Classic and simple! You can choose to enjoy this burger as a Classic Cheese (beef burger, Monterey Jack cheese, mayo, and lettuce) or as a Double Bacon Cheeseburger (two juicy beef burgers, delicious Monterey Jack cheese, mayo, and lettuce). Both are served with skin-on fries.

There’s also a new chicken burger on the Autumn menu – Frankie’s signature buttermilk chicken with herby, sweet Red French dressing. The popular Frankie & Benny’s Hot Dog has been updated and has moved from pork to 100% beef. It’s served grilled and in a new UK made soft brioche style bread with a glaze. The meatballs have been updated too with a softer texture, more Italian herbs, and a touch of lemon. The lasagna sauce has been switched up for a superior taste and calzones are back on the menu as well. Lots of exciting things and these are just the mains!

When we visited our local Frankie & Benny’s, my husband had the “Classic Cheese” burger, and he really enjoyed it! The girls and I enjoyed garlic breads and Margherita pizza which were delicious!

Frankie & Benny’s support the Trussel Trust which is a charity that helps the UK’s largest network of food banks in the UK and for each Margherita pizza sold 20p is donated to the charity. We had onion rings as sides to our mains meals. There are so many tasty things on the menu and the Monday-Friday lunch menu especially offers excellent value.

We were all quite full after our food, but we’d had our eyes set on the amazing dessert menu from the moment that we arrived. The new addition to the Autumn menu is the Lemon Meringue which happens to be a favourite dessert of several members of my family.

It looked so impressive coming out of the kitchen with its high tower of gooey meringue, layered on top of a biscuit base and a layer or lemony, citrus zing! A true showstopper! It was served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream too for extra indulgence.

It was difficult choosing desserts as there are so many mouth-watering options on the menu. We also had the Oreo Super Ice Cream Shake as we are all big Oreo fans and my favourite, the Banana & Speculoos Waffle.

The Banana & Speculoos Waffle is a huge warm waffle topped with slices of banana, Lotos Biscoff biscuit crumbs, chocolate sauce, Lotus Biscoff sauce, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream. Truly indulgent and so delicious!

We were visiting at lunch time so no cocktails for us, but the new menu includes a new Strawberry Daquiri that is made to order and served with crushed ice and the electrifying Purple Rain cocktail has returned too.

We had a wonderful family meal at Frankie & Benny’s and enjoyed sampling some new Autumn menu additions as well as some classic favourites. The food was tasty, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. We look forward to our next visit!
