Sun safety is very important to me – I try to avoid going out in the strong midday sun wherever possible, I cover up in light, breathable clothing, wear a hat in the day time and apply sun cream on any exposed areas as well as wear SPF on my face daily.
In general, I try to choose natural skincare products wherever possible. Over the years, I have tried a few different natural sun creams but, until recently, I hadn’t found any that were easy enough to apply.
Luckily, the brand behind my all-time favourite natural deodorant, The Green Woman, has recently launched their new natural, organic, and plastic-free sun cream which is amazing news!
The multi-award-winning brand has created a pioneering product with lots of amazing features. The Freedom sun cream is a liquid formula which is easy to apply which is what I have been looking for.
The cream protects and repairs skin and is made with natural ingredients. Of course, it’s organic, vegan, cruelty-free and plastic-free. The sun cream is made in the UK, provides Factor 20 UVA protection and is water resistant too.
Many of the other natural sun creams that I have tried have been very thick and difficult to apply and have left skin with a visible white coating while this one is much lighter while also offering better sun protection. The formula contains aloe vera, lavender and apricot kernel oil which is what makes it feel so nourishing on the skin. We have the handy pump dispenser to make application extra easy!
Freedom Natural Mineral Sun Cream SPF 20 is available in two bottle sizes, 90g and 150g. The pump is available for the larger bottles. In the future, I hope to see higher SPF options available too.
