Get Creative with Duerr’s Globe Jars – Ideas for the Home & Gifts
I love upcycling things and reusing items in creative ways and Duerr’s is currently running a campaign about using their beautiful globe jars for other things once you’ve eaten all the delicious marmalade that comes in them.
Duerr’s has been preserving fruits into jams and marmalades since 1881 — they sure know what they’re doing. All products are made in Manchester and the range includes sunny citrus converses, fruity jams and also condiments and peanut butter. All ingredients are sourced from the best suppliers meaning each jar is only full of the good stuff.
Once you’ve enjoyed your jam or conserve, you can use the glass jars for some fun projects too and the globe jars are especially suitable for upcycling.
Some of Duerr’s great ideas include using them as tealight holders, as flower vases or plant pots, as cocktail glasses or filling them with something yummy to give away as a gift to brighten someone’s day. There are lots of fun ways to repurpose these lovely jars and spread a little love around you.
So far, my favourite (and very easy) use is to use the jars as wine glasses! The rounded shape make them perfect for this and they are really nice to drink out of. They hold a lot of liquid though so don’t fill them all the way to the top!
I’ve got a second jar and when I’ve finished my jar of orange marmalade, I’m going to use it to make a sweet gift. I’m going to fill it with Swedish sweets, tie a piece of cloth over the lid with a bow for added cuteness and give it away to someone as a sweet treat.
