Over the past few years, the phrases “escape room” and “escape game” have popped up here and there and until recently I didn’t really know what they meant. It was only when my sister had an escape room visit for her birthday that I found out more about it all.
To summarise, it’s a physical adventure game in which a group of players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues and hints hidden in the room to unveil the secret plot. You’re usually locked in a room and have a limited time frame to solve the riddles. There are escape room locations where you can play but did you know that you can also host your own escape room party at home? This post is all about that.
An escape room game is great idea for a party with friends and family or for team building at work or in the classroom.
How to Host Your Own Escape Room Party
To host your own escape room party at home, you can go down a few different routes. One option is to do it all yourself. For a DIY escape room, you need time, skills and good imagination as you’ll have to come up with the ideas yourself and make the props from scratch.
