Leonie Childrens Wall Light Review / From The Lighting Superstore

This is the newest addition to our daughter’s room a beautiful wall light from The Lighting Superstore. It’s a pink steal flower/sun shape with a frosted glass shade. Its diameter is 35 cm and its projection is 8 cm. It’s the perfect size for a bedside wall light. The design is a bit retro, which I absolutely love! It goes really well with the rest of the interior of our house.Leonie Childrens Wall Light Review / From Lighting Superstore A Mum Reviews

The lamp arrived packaged in a cardboard box and with the indiviual parts in clear plastic bags. Above, you can see all the parts. It’s really easy to put together but I needed my husband’s help to put it up on the wall. I’m really good at putting furniture together but I cannot put things up on the wall safely. It only took him a few minutes to get it up once he had the chance to do it.

You just choose some good screws suitable for your wall, measure out where you want the lamp, drill some holes and put the bottom part of the lamp up with the screws. After that, you attach the top bit of the flower/sun shape, install your bulb and attach the glass. Done!

The lamp does not come with a bulb so we bought an energy saving one from Wilko for just under £4. It says it will last 10 years so that’s a good price! You need an E27 bulb and up to 60W is safe.Leonie Childrens Wall Light Review / From Lighting Superstore A Mum Reviews

Here’s the lamp in daylight. It looks lovely! The shape is gorgeous and the lamp looks beautiful on the wall in our daughter’s room.Leonie Childrens Wall Light Review / From Lighting Superstore A Mum Reviews

One of the screws that holds the glass has a tiny chip in it from transport, but you can only see it close up and we will fix it with a drop of paint. I would like to suggest wrapping these screws in some bubble wrap in the box since the paintwork is a bit delicate. Other than that, the lamp is quite perfect!

It’s always difficult to capture light on camera but below are two shots of the lamp at nighttime in an otherwise dark room. The lamp shape casts a beautiful shadow on the wall, extending the nice shape of the lamp. As you can see the light is stronger to the left and that’s due to the placement on the bulb fixture. We quite like it though  it makes it look a bit like a Yin and Yang symbol.

We were pleasantly suprised to see that the lamp is more than a reading light. With the bulb that we bought, the lamp lights up the whole room really well. It gives a pleasant light enough to use the entire room for various activities such as playing or reading.

Here’s what the lamp looks like switched on in the daytime. You don’t need it on in the day at this time of the year, of course, but I just wanted to show you the light in daylight too. It’s a lovely lamp isn’t it? We’re really happy with it! The lamp costs around £50 but the quality of the materials is really amazing and the design is gorgeous so I definitely think it’s worth it. This lamp will last many years and stay in the room as our daughter grows up. The design is suitable for all ages and I’m sure my girl will love this lamp as much as I do.
