My Travel Bucket List for 2018 – Family Holidays
Travelling is one of my favourite things to do and something I have always loved. My family did a lot of travelling when my sisters and I were little, for holidays and my parents’ work. Before having kids, I loved travelling with my husband and now we love showing our two daughters the world and exploring it together.
It’s been a while since we went on a proper trip due to a few reasons — having a newborn, saving to move to a new house, using up our holiday days for going to Sweden to see my family (which is always nice, of course!).
2018 is the year that we will do more travelling again, I’m sure! Our youngest daughter will turn 2 in May and is a much more convenient age to travel — maybe we’ll go somewhere before she turns two though as flight costs will go up!
So where should we go?
- Greece
Greece is the perfect family holiday destination and the country I’ve been to the most (except Sweden and the UK). We went on Greek holidays a lot growing up and I completely understand why. The flight is not very long, it’s affordable, the weather is reliable and the food is amazing! Another Greek holiday is definitely on my bucket list — it’s been over 10 years since I last visited. Destination2.co.uk offers luxury Crete holidays that look great! I would also love to visit Santorini again.
- Iceland
I’ve wanted to visit Iceland for so long as it looks so beautiful and I’m curious about the way of life there. I think a visit to Reykjavik would be quite family friendly too. The only thing I’m not sure about is what time of year to go? Each season has its benefits and beauty and I can’t choose.
- Amsterdam
My husband and I have already been to Amsterdam twice but it’s one of those places that I would like to keep going back to. I really like the Dutch culture and architecture and let’s not forget the cheese and the chocolate!
- Stockholm
It might seem weird putting my home town on my travel bucket list but I live in the UK now and though we visit Sweden a few times a year, it’s been a while since we had holiday in Sweden during the summer. Stockholm is very beautiful in the winter too but all the water makes it glorious in the summer and in 2018, I want to spend some time in Stockholm when it’s sunny and warm.
