Our Changing Bag Essentials – Pink Lining Ambassador Application
|Our Changing Bag Essentials – Pink Lining Ambassador Application
For my Pink Lining Ambassador Search entry, I’ve put together a post about our changing bag essentials. The contents of this bag is suitable for a morning or afternoon out for us and contains everything we need to get by for a few hours in town or out and about somewhere.
The most important bits of a changing bag are the things you need to change your baby, of course. We have a travel changing pad that came with a Mother & Baby magazine that also has a handy storage pocket that holds a few nappies and wipes. I always make sure to take nappy sacks with me to not be the cause of any odours in public toilets/baby changing rooms. We use Aldi Mamia nappies and wipes, here in a travel sized packet that fits really neatly in the changing pad pocket.
Good hygiene is very important to me and I always carry a few hand sanitisers on me so that I can quickly find one when I need it: after changing my daughter’s nappy, after going on public transport, before eating, etc. In the spring and summer months we also always have a high SPF sun cream with us. These pocket sized ones are great for changing bags.
I always pack a change of clothes in case there’s a nappy leak or food related spill. The little one loves walking (running!) so shoes are essential now, too. She’s often sniffly so I pack a bib to wipe her nose with.
Entertainment is a must when you are out with a toddler so I usually pack at least one toy and/or book. Peppa Pig related items are very favourable at the moment!
Toddlers get hungry and mine is quite a snacky one so I try to always have something available. We use one of our spill free snack containers for small snacks like cereal and these Organix Goodies are usually a hit too. I always take some water with me in a sippy cup or toddler water bottle and a Chillipeeps in case we stay out and I need to get a follow on milk bottle. Chillipeeps are teats/spouts that you can just attach to formula bottles/cartons or water bottles. I love them because they mean I don’t need to pack any bottles.
The bag we use the most is this totebag that I’ve designed myself. It’s quite roomy and good for a short outing but we could really do with a proper bag with compartments to be more organised, especially for days/nights when we are out for longer and need more of everything.
