My husband has been wanting to take us all camping for quite some time but there was no way I would be comfortable in the old, small tent that he had and especially not now that we have kids. We needed a tent fit for a family!

We now have the SKANDIKA Gotland 4 Person Tent with Sewn-in Groundsheet and are ready to go on camping adventures!

It’s a very spacious tent designed to sleep four but you could easily fit more people in as it’s got two bedroom areas (that can be turned into one bigger one) and a very large living space.

Since I’d never been camping, I was a bit worried about how easy and quick it would be to put up but I needn’t have worried! The tunnel design makes it a quick and simple affair!

The Gotland 4 offers lots of space for sleeping and living which is a necessity in the UK where you can’t rely on the weather being good. It’s so nice with a tent with a decent living area too and plenty of room for belongings. The living space makes a great play area for the kids and could easily fit a few guests if needed.

I’m quite tall (176 cm) and can comfortably stand up in this tent which is amazing! The height is 200 cm so even really tall people should fit.

The tent protects against strong winds and rain — again, very important in this country! The Gotland 4 offers a fantastic 5,000 mm water column, which protects against the heaviest of rain. The level of protection is the highest available for family tents (most only offer 3,000 mm, at the most). It sure is waterproof!

The sewn-in ground sheet is a huge selling point as it keeps the tent free from draughts and damp and uninvited guests like bugs!

The inner tent is made from breathable material to keep the climate comfortable and there’s mesh on the sleeping pods and the main entrance to keep midges out.

The poles are made of strong, flexible fiberglass which is shatterproof. There are two upright poles for the main entrance to keep it open if you wish and they are made of steel.

It feels like a really good quality tent — it’s sturdy and the details are very well executed. The seams are waterproof sealed, the eyelets are reinforced and the material is fire retardant. I’m sure this tent will last us many, many years! It’s definitely got the space for our growing family, too.

There are even some organiser pockets that are very handy and a hook in the ceiling for a lantern. There are three entrances and lots of windows which ensure good airflow in the day time and plenty of light. I do wish all the curtains for the windows would close from the inside so that you couldn’t peek in from the outside but that’s a small detail overall.

The tent comes in a handy storage bag with all the accessories you need, instructions and a repair kit. The price for the Gotland 4 is around £260 which is quite good value in my opinion since it’s such a large tent that you can use for many people for many holidays.
