SquidSoap Review – Magic Ink Pump for Squeaky Clean Little Hands
Teaching kids to wash their hands properly is very important as good hand hygiene will help kill common bugs that cause colds, flu and diarrhoea and will prevent the spread of salmonella, MRSA and campylobacter which cause food poisoning.
Washing your hands properly and frequently will help you stay healthy and it’s important to pass on good handwashing techniques to our children to keep them healthy too. It becomes a lifelong habit that will benefit them through life.
It takes at least 20 seconds to wash your hands properly — you can see the NHS’s advice on handwashing here.
With my background in childcare, I have taught many children how to wash their hands and sometimes a little extra help in the form of a fun soap can make all the difference.
SquidSoap is not just a fun soap though — it’s clever too. The pump bottle is fun and colourful and the pump has a collectible bath toy squid around it that you can take off and play with at bathtime. The soap smells delicious too! The clever bit is the stamp on the pump. You can remove a clear cap to reveal a stamp that matches the colour of the rubbery squid bath toy. The idea is that you stamp your children’s hands (or the kids do it themselves) and then they have to wash their hands thoroughly until the stamp is washed off which takes about 20 seconds.
It’s a brilliant idea that will encourage children to wash their hands properly. As they can see the stamp, they’ll be reminded to do it each time they’re in the bathroom or at the kitchen sink.
“Training Tomorrow’s Great Hand Washers”
— SquidSoap’s motto —
My two-year-old daughter already loves washing her hands (even when it’s not needed) so for her the stamp is just for fun but I know some older children who could really benefit from the encouragement that the stamp will give them.
SquidSoap is designed for children with a neutral pH-level and no nasties. It can be used by the whole family to keep hands squeaky clean and hygienic. The ink is the same type commonly used in food so it’s completely safe for the skin.
SquidSoap has been nominated for the Mother&Baby Awards 2016 in the Best Potty Training Innovation category, a nomination that they definitely deserve.
This lovely soap is available in four fun colours and is available to buy from Amazon, Tesco, Monoprix, Superdrug, Jojo Maman Bébé and Etos. RRP is £1.99. Find out more on the SquidSoap website.
We were sent a sample of this soap to go with this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
