Summer Infant TinyDiner Review – A Clever Children’s Placemat
Babies and toddlers quickly make a mess when it’s time to eat and they don’t care whether they’re at home or at a restaurant. Some kind of table cover is essential if your child is eating at the table. We’ve been testing the Summer Infant TinyDiner Placemat which is a clever little thing.
It’s a cute placemat that is perfect for eating at home or on-the-go. At home, it provides a surface that helps contain the mess with a built-in scoop near your child’s belly that will catch spills, keeping your floor and child cleaner. It’s even got an outer rim to help contain wet spills.
When out and about, eating in a restaurant for example, the TinyDiner helps contain mess too but also provides a clean and safe eating surface. When you’re done, you just roll it up and tuck it into itself to put in your bag to take home with you. It’s really easy to rinse in the sink and the durable waterproof material is very quick to dry too.
The placemat has suction cups on the bottom to keep it in place on the table. These are slightly bulky so the mat doesn’t lay completely flat but that’s not an issue at all. I don’t think it would stick to a wooden table but anything smooth and shiny should be fine. The placemat is suitable from 6 months onwards and is a great little item to use at home but especially when eating out as restaurant tables aren’t always clean enough to eat off.
I forgot to remove the mat from our table before my 3-year-old did some drawing and she turned her felt-tip pen drawing upside down which rubbed off on the mat and wouldn’t come off so just remember to remove it before any crafting activities.
You can buy the TinyDiner from the Summer Infant website or from Amazon.co.uk. It costs £9.99. I think it’s available in more colours from Amazon too.
