In the last few years here in the UK, the increase in knife-related crime incidents has risen to a record high, with approximately 285 fatalities in the last 12 months. To help prevent incidents like these, the UK Government has taken the decision to reclassify kitchen knives as an offensive weapon which has led to many retailers taking the decision to remove single knives from sale and instead sell knife sets.

Viners are keen to develop new products that continue to offer the same great quality and value for money that we know and love, whilst also addressing the current situation along with knife safety in the home. Their design team have been busy developing new knives that are highly functional and sharp to be suitable for their purpose in the kitchen but with new shapes to the blades to reduce and prevent injuries, accidents and fatalities in the future.
