What To See While Touring United Kingdom 

The UK is famous for several things. From natural attractions to museums, signature landmarks, and gorgeous cities, the Commonwealth of Nations has always captivated visitors, making it one of the top holiday destinations in the world. That being said, we wish you to have the same experience! So, let’s look through our list of what to see while touring the United Kingdom! 

• Skye, Scotland

Usually a part of Scotland tours, Skye is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides in Scotland. Its stunning scenic landscapes include the ascending Cuillin Hills and the gorgeous Old Man of Storr. The whole panorama makes for one of the most picturesque places in the UK, so you should take advantage! Also, we suggest rock-climbing and hiking; there is the fantastic Trotternish Circuit, a trail looping all around the island at 80 kilometers in length. 

If you want to touch a bit on the historical side of the island, definitely go see Dunvegan Castle and its Gardens. This is Scotland’s oldest continuously inhabited castle and the ancestral home to the Clan MacLeod. 

Also, nothing can beat the sight of otters playing together! Charge up with cuteness by watching the little water cuddlers engage in a play-fight or nap while holding hands. 

• Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland

Every trip to Ireland must include a stop at some sort of natural wonder, and luckily, the country is full of them! This time, we are stopping in Northern Ireland and a destination so lovely and spectacular that it has been called the 8th wonder of the world.

Causeway Coast is where the Giant’s Causeway was born – a place of over 40,000 hexagonal rocks pressed together into a close huddle, creating the most intricate picture. In reality, scientists have cleared that the stones were formed due to volcanic influence, but the Irish insist on the legend of Giant’s Causeway being the handiwork of none other but giants, hence the clever name! 

• The Lake District, England

Otherwise known as the Lakes or Lakeland, this is England’s most famous National Park and mountainous range. 

Lake District will exceed your expectations whether you want to see the steep summits or the deep lochs. Hike to Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, and have a picnic by Wastwater, its deepest lake. 

Mostly, all of Lakeland belongs to the Lake District National Park, with the exception of the town of Kendal, some coastal areas, and Lakeland Peninsulas. 

This is the perfect site to spend time outside and one of the most important visits you can make on your UK tour, so do not miss out! 

• The Scottish Highlands, Scotland

An inseparable part of Scotland, and the whole of the UK, really, the Scottish Highlands is one of the most striking landscapes in the country, unspoiled and all-natural; its magnificence is what brings tourists here over and over again.

Drive through the glorious roads to see the backdrop of various movies, especially the famous Glenfinnan viaduct, primarily recognizable for its part in the Harry Potter franchise. But seriously, with sights like these, who is to say that you are not going to a magical school? 

However, there is more to it than greenery, hills, and Hollywood-famous areas. The Scottish Highlands are also rich culturally. Find your way to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle, or make your way up Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. 

If you are an animal-lover, the wildlife here will soothe your heart and blow your mind at the same! Keep your eyes open to see the classic Highland Cow, the Scottish Wildcat, the fun and quick Pine Marten, Red Deer, and, of course, the most impressive of them all, the Humpback Whale. The latter might be a bit surprising, but the coast here is actually quite perfect for whale-watching! 

• Snowdonia National Park, Wales

Best-known for its rugged mountain range, and icy summits, Snowdonia National Park, is undoubtedly one of the most perfect places to visit in the UK.

Settled in Wales, the National Park depicts superbly the geological impact Ice Age has had on these formations. It is composed largely of volcanic rocks but is cut by valleys that prove the influence of the Glacial Period. 

However, the most exciting thing about it is the perfect balance the Welsh managed to find, to preserve true nature without spoiling it, yet at the same time prepare a plethora of man-made points of interest. These include Snowdon Mountain Railway and the National Slate Museum of Machinery. 

• The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

To be completely honest, the Harry Potter franchise somehow managed to pinpoint the most unique locations in the United Kingdom, got a few frames of it, and blew it up to popularity. Naturally, though, the Cliffs of Moher were always quite famous. 

Only one and a half hours drive away from Galway; you will be welcomed by the striking views of cliffs towering over the rugged west Clare coast. The natural masterpiece has, over time, become the number one Ireland landmark, and deservedly so. 

Observing from afar does not do it justice, so we suggest you pick a trail and follow it to the best points to see the greenery of the country and the Atlantic. You could also try the Doolin Cliff Walk, which will lead you straight to the Visitor’s Center, where they will guide you further to the best spots, and tell you a bit more about the formation and legends surrounding the Cliffs.
