5 Easy Ways To Boost Your Confidence & Self-Esteem

You might find yourself struggling with your confidence and self-esteem. There can be many reasons for this, you may have just had a little bundle of joy or you could just be feeling the effects of ageing. Whatever the reason may be there are many ways you can regain control and get your confidence and self-esteem back to where they used to be.

Yes You Can
  • Rid Yourself Of Toxicity

You may find yourself surrounded by people, but are they good for you? There are many toxic people in the world and they may not mean to but wherever they go they cause devastation. They also use harmful words to hurt those they claim to love. If you have a friend or loved one who says things like ‘oh should you really be wearing that’ it’s time to question whether you need them in your life.

Over time if you carry on hanging around with toxic people your energy will just be sucked right out of you and you won’t remember what it feels like to be the real you. It can be very upsetting for both you and others around you to see you like that.

Once you have gotten rid of them it can be a while before you feel like your old self again. You may have to use techniques to regain the confidence they caused you to lose. This can be easy, stand in front of a mirror and learn to say nice things about yourself. Start with one a day and work up. You will soon be walking around with that head of yours held high once again.

Healthy Eating
  • Focus On Your Health

You might be feeling a bit run down and it can take its toll on your mental health. This in turn means your confidence can be shattered because of the way you perceive yourself. There may be nothing wrong with you at all, you are absolutely perfect but the reflection you see before you could be telling you something completely different.

If you feel yourself struggling to keep up a healthy lifestyle just remember that it will be worth it, in the long run, to get back your high levels of confidence. You should be enjoying a healthy balanced diet with all the required food groups. If you are not sure how to do this then you can purchase portion control dividers which tell you how much of each food to put on your plate.

Along with diet, you should be drinking at least 2 litres of water each day, this will ensure your body has enough hydration to get you through the day and night. Hydration means healthier-looking skin and your body functioning as it should. If you find yourself forgetting to drink water regularly throughout the day then think about purchasing one of those water bottles which tells you when to drink and how much to drink at different intervals throughout the day.

Hair Style
  • New Hairstyle

A new hairstyle can make you feel and look like a completely different person, thus giving you a confidence boost. If you are not feeling too happy with your hair at the moment, think about ways you can change it for the better. You might be scrolling through social media or flicking through a magazine when a particular hairstyle catches your eye. If you think it will suit you, why not go for it. You may have had long hair for far too long and you never know what to do with it so fancy a change. You could get it all cut off and have a lovely short bob hairstyle.

It doesn’t have to just be the cut either, you can add a splash of colour into your hair to liven it up a bit. A simple change such as the colour can instantly change the way it looks. You might be bored of your natural blonde or brown colour so think of something out there like purple or red. Hairdressers love giving people makeovers especially drastic changes, so they will be sure to love changing your look for you.

You might be worried about going thinner as you age, this is normal and nothing to panic about. If you don’t like it there are many things you can do to solve it. Try the various shampoos and treatments that are out there first, if that fails to improve your hair then you can try medical techniques for female pattern baldness

Clothes
  • Clothing

Along with a trip to the hairdressers, you might be struggling with clothing and outfits as well. Clothes and hair can be the difference between feeling a million dollars and feeling rubbish and boring. Hit the shops, get some new clothes and feel fantastic again. It may be as simple as you have just outgrown your old clothes, not in the way you think. Outgrown your clothes means matured so that style is no longer very you. It’s about finding a new style that works for you and finding clothing that is suitable as well.

Take along a family member or friend when you go shopping. They can be another set of eyes when looking out for awesome clothes, they can also be an honest opinion when you are trying on the clothes. If you don’t have anyone who can go with you and you are not sure which clothes will suit you then take a look at a personal shopper experience. These are available in some shops and it involves telling the assistant what you like and they go onto the shop floor and bring you items of clothing to try on that they think will look good.

Talking
  • Speak To Someone

Finally, if you believe the cause of your self-esteem and confidence issue is deeper rooted and can’t be resolved with any of the other solutions then speaking to someone can be helpful. Therapists and counsellors are there to listen, they offer advice on how to deal with what you are going through but they will not tell you how to overcome it. Of course, they will give you pointers but the goal is for you to realise how you can solve your problems.

Speaking about your problems can be amazing and can make you feel so much better. If talking about things isn’t your thing then you could write your feelings down instead.
