A Versatile Summer Dress for the Changing British Weather
|A Versatile Summer Dress for the Changing British Weather
Moving from season to season is the perfect time to update your wardrobe. This summer, I’m particularly looking to update the dress section of my wardrobe. I have so many black dresses and need some more choices that are better suited for summer. I’m looking for both dressier styles and everyday ones and currently they have to be suitable for breastfeeding as I have a newborn baby and comfortable too.
I have found one new dress that is a great addition to my wardrobe. This Lyocell Knee-Length Denim Dress from the Summer Dresses category at JD Williams (£35) is comfortable and easy to wear.
The mid blue colour is gorgeous and the dress has button detailing on the front, pockets and sleeves that can be rolled up or worn down. It’s a comfortable loose fit style and has a flattering curved hemline. The fabric is light and the dress can be washed in the washing machine at home which is a must when you have kids.
The material is great for summer as it’s cool enough on hot days when the dress can be worn with bare legs and sandals. On chillier days or at night, it can be worn with tights and ankle boots like I’m wearing here.
The Sole Diva Ankle Boots from JD Williams (£45 – were £65) are a great choice for a more summery boot. Suede leather is not suitable for the wetter parts of the year so is perfect for summer when it’s hopefully raining less.
I’ll be wearing this dress a lot this summer and can see it working well over the rest of the year too. It’s easy to move in when walking and playing with the kids and I can breastfeed in it too as the buttons open low. I love the loose fit as it’s very comfortable and especially great now that I’ve just had a baby a few weeks ago and my belly is not completely back to normal yet.
The dress washes well at 40 degrees and does not need to be ironed if you hang it up to dry. Easy! I’m very happy with my new summer dress!
I was sent this dress and these shoes for this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
