Book Review: Daddy Do My Hair? Beth’s Twists by Tola Okogwu
It’s Sunday evening and dinner is over.
Beth is excited and heads to the sofa.
Daddy is there with a smile and a chair,
“Daddy,” she asks, “will you please do my hair?”
Daddy Do My Hair? Beth’s Twists is a heart-warming story that celebrates the unique and special relationship between a father and his child. The story follows Beth and her dad as he helps her look after and care for her hair. It’s a very sweet book and a wonderful hair adventure!
The book is written by Tola Okogwu and illustrated by Rahima Begum.
“I passionately believe that everyone should have the opportunity to read books that are reflective of their own experiences, backgrounds and cultures and that there is a need for more diverse books. It was this belief that led to the creation of the book and it was very much inspired by the relationship between by daughter and husband.” — Tola Okogwu
I love the rhyming text and the lovely illustrations — it’s a really beautiful and unique book.
This book is the first in a series of books and it will be released on October the 13th 2016. It’s available to pre-order from Amazon now. I look forward to seeing the other books in the series! Read more on DaddyDoMyHair.com.
