Can CBD Help You Get a Good Night’s Sleep?
|Can CBD Help You Get a Good Night’s Sleep?
How are you feeling? My usual answer and the answer I get from most people I know is simply: “Tired!”. Many people wake up feeling tired in the morning and stay feeling tired throughout the day because so few of us get a full night’s sleep, for varying reasons.
I still have a toddler who often stays up late and nearly always ends up crawling into my side of the bed, tossing and turning through the night, so I know why I’m tired! I also work a lot and juggle all the responsibilities that come with motherhood and having a house so life is busy and I don’t usually have much time to spend on myself and the winding down process in the evening.
We all know that sleeping well is essential for good health and that having a healthy sleep routine with good habits that encourage a good night’s sleep is something we should all have. We need our sleep to allow our bodies and brains to recharge and repair to keep us healthy and feeling refreshed and alert in the mornings, ready for achieving the day’s goals.
Without enough good quality sleep, our brains cannot function properly which will impact our ability to concentrate, process memories and more.
There are lots of things that we can do to help achieve a good night’s sleep, like having a regular bedtime, winding down in the evening before going to bed, and avoiding technology/screen-time late at night, for example. Our lifestyle habits also affect how we sleep – healthy eating and regular physical activity will help you sleep better and avoiding alcohol and caffeine also helps most people. Spending time outdoors in the daytime is also great for your sleep as it helps your body distinguish daytime from nighttime better. Ensuring that your bedroom is tidy, clean and comfortable in all ways is another way to set you up for better sleep.
I’m sure that you’ve heard that some people like to use aromatherapy with relaxing fragrances like lavender to help them wind down for bedtime, but did you know that you can also use CBD as part of your regime to achieve better sleep?
CBD doesn’t work like a sleeping pill or anything like that, but it can make your brain and body feel more calm and relaxed which can improve your sleeping habits too. You can use it as part of your nightly routine and should feel a difference after a week or so.
Columbia Care Platinum CBD sent me their Columbia Care Platinum Sleep Kit to try. The kit contains two broad spectrum 10% CBD products and one luxurious eye mask. The two CBD products are their Platinum CBD SoftGel Capsules and Platinum Peppermint Flavoured CBD Oil. These 100% organic, vegan, non-GMO and THC-free CBD products are manufactured in the USA with comprehensive product quality and safety testing regime for each product batch. There’s also an unflavoured CBD oil option available.
These products are really easy to use. With the capsules, you simply swallow one and with the oil, you use the dropper to put the desired dose under your tongue. The oil lets you start with a smaller dose if you want to while the capsules provide 30mg of CBD in each one. I like the ease of the capsules and find that 30mg is a great evening dose to help me feel relaxed in the evenings but I also love the taste and scent of the peppermint oil, which I find very soothing too.
If you’re struggling to fall asleep at night or keep waking throughout the night, I would recommend trying CBD for sleep to see if it can help you too.
