Dr Zak’s High Protein Bagels Review
I love bagels for lunch or breakfast but they often feel quite dense and a bit unhealthy. I really enjoy them but often feel quite bloated after eating one. There’s a new kind of bagel on the market though and it’s much healthier than the usual ones.
Dr Zak’s high protein bagels are made using Dr Zak’s signature blend of protein isolates, seeds and multigrains. They are packed with 24g of protein and contain 40% less carbohydrate than a standard bagel. They’re high in protein and fibre but low in sugars. They are a nutritious and delicious way to meet protein, carbs and fibre needs.
Dr Zak’s high protein bagels are available in two tasty flavours — Multigrain & Seed and Cinnamon & Raisin. They are made with the highest quality protein sources, suitable for vegetarians and free from artificial colours, preservatives and flavours.
Each pack contains four bagels in a modified atmosphere packaging that gives the product up to 60 days shelf life. The tear and share packaging lets you split the packet in two perfectly sealed compartments containing two bagels each. This is really clever and perfect if you don’t plan on eating all four in a short period of time. The bagels are also suitable for freezing.
We’ve tried the Cinnamon & Raisin bagels and they are delicious! You can taste the healthiness in the way that they have more texture and fibre but they still taste indulgent too. I didn’t get that heavy feeling in my stomach after eating these. They are still very filling but much lighter at the same time.
For a treat breakfast at the weekend, I like to eat one of these bagels toasted with some Chocolate & Caramel spread (very healthy!) and some Dutch cheese like Gouda, Maasdam or Edam. For a lunch, I like to pack one with cheese and vegetables such as cucumber, tomato and lettuce. Very tasty!
We were sent this item for this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I do love a bagel but like you feel quite bloated after eating one, I must see if I can pick these up next time I’m in the supermarket
