National No Make-Up Day – Embracing Going Make-Up Free | AD
As a mother of daughters, I am so happy to see that more and more people seem to be embracing going make-up free. Over the last few years, there’s been an emerging trend amongst younger celebrities especially. Astral, the iconic skincare brand that’s loved by beauty influencers, has identified this trend and spotted a growing number of female celebrities who are removing their make-up in favour of embracing their skin’s natural beauty. A big part of this movement has been motivated by a desire to encourage self-acceptance amongst their younger fanbase who often feel under increasing pressure to conform to a certain look.
National No Make-Up Day Top 5 Natural Beauties
In celebration of National No Make-Up Day on 26th April 2025, here are Astral’s Top 5 natural beauties:
- Amanda Seyfried
- Alicia Keys
- Selena Gomez
- Pamela Anderson
- Billie Eilish
By going make-up free and being proud of their bare faces, these celebrities are encouraging others to embrace any perceived imperfections and are redefining what it means to be beautiful. Astral is fully behind this message.

Benefits of Going Make-Up Free
Going make-up free has many benefits – both physical and mental. GP and dermatology specialist Dr Stephanie Gallard comments: “Leaving our make-up off can boost the skin’s health by allowing it to breathe and it will also reduce the risk of outbreaks and irritation which I often see caused by cosmetic products.”
Dr Gallard continues “Embracing a make-up free face can also enhance self-esteem as it encourages us to love our natural beauty and fosters a sense of self-acceptance. I would also add that it saves time in the morning!”

Healthy Glowing Skin Without Make-Up
You don’t need make-up for healthy looking skin. Nourish your skin from within with plenty of water and a healthy, balanced diet. From the outside, all you need is a simple skincare routine.
Astral Intensive Moisturiser has been a skincare essential for women since 1953. It’s a versatile beauty wonder that tackles many skincare needs. This traditional and timeless moisturiser has a rich and intensive formula that delivers all the care your skin needs in three key ways:
- Hydrating the skin
- Drawing in moisture
- Providing a protective barrier
The nourishing cream locks in your skin’s natural moisture, while still allowing it to breathe. It’s a great skincare staple for fresh, hydrated and protected skin – everything you need for smooth, soft, healthy, glowing skin.
Additionally, Astral Intensive Moisturiser is an absolute steal at under £5 for a 200ml tub. It’s often compared to Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream which costs a whopping £195 for a 140ml tub! If you haven’t tried Astral yet, I highly recommend giving it a go. You won’t regret it!
You can find Astral in the following shops: Superdrug, Tesco, Sainsburys, Amazon.co.uk and selected pharmacies nationwide. From May 2025, you’ll also be able to buy Astral from Boots. Visit www.astralmoisturiser.co.uk for more information.
