Fruit Bowl Picked and Pressed Snacks – Fruit Bars & Fruit Bites
Fruit Bowl has an exciting new snack range out called Picked and Pressed and the range contains two types of products — bars and bites — in different flavours. The products are a natural source of plenty of fibre making them different to other fruit based dried foods. They include milled flaxseed which is full of fibre and very healthy.
These snacks for kids count as one of your 5-a-day, contain 6 times their weight in real fruit, only have 60 calories, don’t contain any added sugar, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, are not made with concentrates and are very high in fibre. These numbers are per 19g bar or 19g pack of bites.
The bars are shaped into 5 segments for easy eating or smaller serving. The outside is quite firm and the inside is moist and fruity.
“The great news is that these bars beat others on the market for texture and mouthfeel when researched amongst kids and parents.”
The fruit has been dried and gently oven baked to ensure a real fruit taste and only the best real, whole fruits have been used,
The Picked and Pressed Fruit Bars are available in three delicious flavours: strawberry, orange and apple and pear and they have an RRP of £2.00 for a pack of four individually wrapped 19g bars.
The Picked and Pressed Fruit Bites are packaged in small snack bags and the bites have a fun garden theme — leaf, ladybird, snail, bee, flower and owl. The bites are thinner than the bars and crispier too. There are about 12 bites in each packet.
The bites are pressed into their shapes and made from real, whole fruit. They come in three tasty flavours: strawberry, apple and blackcurrant and mixed berry and have an RRP of £2.00 for a pack with four 19g bags.
My toddler is a fussy eater and it took her a few tries before she got used to the texture. I’m very happy with these products and their ingredients lists and health benefits. They make a great, healthy snack at home or when out and about. I’ve sampled them too, of course, and the flavour is nice and not too sweet. The addition of rice flour makes the flavour remind me of Japanese mochi / daifuku cakes. It’s definitely a snack that adults can borrow from their toddlers in emergencies!
The small bites are perfectly sized for small hands and I really like that the bars easily split into smaller chunks without the need for a knife.
Fruit Bowl snacks are available from the big supermarkets instore and online and from Ocado. You can also shop kids’ snacks directly from the Fruit Bowl website shop.
