Wooden railway playsets are classic toys that never go out of style. They practice creative building skills as well as encourage role play and develop communication skills.

My girls love playing with trains, and we have got a new addition from Hape, one of the largest wooden toy suppliers in the world and one of my personal favorite toy brands.

Our new set is the Hape Railway Bucket Builder Set and it’s a very clever playset where the box and lid becomes part of the finished railway. I really like this aspect!

The stylish set includes everything you need to build an exciting railway, but you can also combine it with other Hape railway sets or compatible brands.

The set contains 50 pieces, including a free-wheeling locomotive, two carriages, a selection of trees and bushes, 2 houses, a play character, tools, a variety of signals and lots of different railway pieces and other bits to create your own train track scenery.

The box and the lid have train tracks moulded into them and built-in features. The grey side becomes a rocky mountain area while the green lid becomes a lush green landscape that the train can pass through.

It’s a wonderful wooden railway playset for train enthusiasts or children who are new to trains too. The set includes so many exciting pieces to build an interesting train track with and so many things to explore.

I love how the packaging becomes part of the railway build and that it’s a handy toy storage box too. I’m sure the fun design will help encourage little ones to help tidy up too.

This set is suitable from 3 years onwards and all the components are designed for little hands with smooth finishes are rounded edges.
