New from Little Gestalten: I Find My First Words & A Taste of the World | AD

Little Gestalten is one of my favourite children’s book publishers. They have recently introduced two new vibrant titles for young readers: I Find My First Words & A Taste of the World (New Edition). Below, we’ll have a closer look at both these wonderful and enriching books. 

I Find My First Words

I Find My First Words by Yayo Kawamura, a Berlin-based artist, is a celebration of discovery. It’s a book for the very youngest readers and it features beautiful everyday scenes that are full of playful and colourful illustrations. 

Children reading this board book will visit places such as the park, the supermarket, the doctor’s office, the beach, the road crossing, and different spaces in the home where they are encouraged to recognise and name familiar everyday objects from their world. 

“What should I wear today? What animals do I know at the zoo? Who will I meet at the playground, and what is for dinner? Every day is a learning adventure, whether at home, kindergarten, or out and about!”

The illustrations are beautiful and the book promotes lots of important learning skills, including language development, observation, and storytelling.

A Taste of the World (New Edition)

A Taste of the World: What People Eat and How They Celebrate Around the Globe is all about festive feasts from around the world. In this book, readers travel across the globe uncovering different dishes, traditions, cultures and festivals, looking at what brings people together. The book is written and illustrated by Beth Walrond, a British illustrator based in Berlin.

Come along from Egypt to Germany, from China to America, from Sweden to Japan, and more! A Taste of the World explores lots of interesting food festivities from around the world. For example, readers learn about Thanksgiving in America, Bastille Day in France, Christmas in Germany, Hanami in Japan, Chinese New Year, a good old roast dinner in the UK, and much more.

Each spread focuses on one country and is an absolute joy to explore with its striking colours and fascinating facts.
