I’m at the end of my pregnancy now 34 weeks and a few days. My bump has grown a lot and it can be quite difficult to get comfortable at night. Something I also struggle with is staying on my side. I usually sleep on my back or on my front but that’s not recommended when you’re pregnant so I try to sleep on my side but often end up rolling back onto my back in my sleep.

That’s the main reason why I was keen to try a u-shaped maternity pillow as it provides the support needed for comfort and side sleeping. I’ve got this lovely one from PregnancyPillows.net. It’s a huge u-shaped pillow that provides pressure relief, alleviates back and muscle pains and keeps you in position all through the night. It’s got a super soft outer fabric that is velvety and so cosy to cuddle up to. It feels very luxurious and you can choose from seven colours to match your taste and the style of your bedroom. The available colours are: Sky Blue, Black, Cream, Chocolate, Coffee, Pink and Purple. I went for pink as a contrast to the dark red fabrics and feature wall in our bedroom.

The inner fabric is subtly coated with lavender which is soothing and relaxing perfect for bedtime!

The filling is made of Fairy Beads that conform to the shape of your body for ultimate comfort. The fine beads gently slide against each other to provide the support needed depending on the body part. The filling is light and durable and anti-allergenic. At first, I thought the pillow might be a bit firm for me as I usually sleep on very soft down pillows but I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now and have not missed my normal pillows at all. I just get in between the “legs” of the pregnancy pillow and lay down on my side. I feel completely supported and comfortable and do not need to worry about ending up sleeping on my back as the pillow keeps me in place all night. It’s only when my toddler sneaks in during the early hours that I have to move it to make room for her!

In the daytime, it’s great for back support when reading on the bed and my toddler loves sitting hugged in the pillow when she’s reading or watching a YouTube video too. I think that my husband would find this pillow really comfortable too and that he might steal it post-pregnancy! Pregnancypillows.net Premium U-Shaped Pregnancy Pillow Review A Mum Reviews

Since using this u-shaped pillow, my pelvic girdle pain seems to have improved too. This is probably because I don’t move around so much during the night and am better supported. I’m very pleased!

It costs £40 and is available from PregnancyPillows.net. They have a lovely range of award winning pregnancy and nursing pillows to choose from with prices starting at just £15.

I was sent this item for this review. As always, all my reviews are 100% honest and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
