Review & Giveaway: Alfie and His Very Best Friend by Shirley Hughes
|Review & Giveaway: Alfie and His Very Best Friend by Shirley Hughes
In this gorgeous book, we get to see the special friendship between Alfie and Bernard. They are very best friends and together they have lots of adventures, big and small. They go to the library, take part in a scooter race and create their own very special club with only two members.
Shirley Hughes creates lovely books about Alfie (and other characters too) and they all have a nice old fashioned feel to them. They’re classic children’s books, like the ones I grew up with, and I really love that about them. The illustrations are beautiful too!
This tale is not an exception and the story is sweet and heart-warming and portrays the boys’ friendship in a very nice way.
My eldest daughter is nearly three years old now and is just at the age where she plays more with other children and is beginning to make friends. This is the perfect time to read books about friendship to help her understand more.
